I've got a 55lb 54inch Xi5 on my boat and definitely recommend it. Its still early days as I've only had it a couple of months, Anchor mode works very well even in wind and current and the Jog mode is a great feature. Battery life seems pretty good, I replaced an old Watersnake with foot control and the Xi5 remote is a lot better to use especially fishing one-up where I tend to wander around the boat a lot more. I weighed it up against the Minn Kota, I suspect they are both good motors however there was quite a few lures difference in the price.

I fished there in July, drifting the channels besides the islands down near nambucca and on high tide the bays just up river all produced good flatties on SPs. Also the channels to the ocean on the Warrell Creek side we're good for walking and casting.

I'm not sure the bits of ribbon weed that get flushed out of the lake are doing us any favours on the beach either, I've caught a lot of weed throwing chromies. :-)

How have you been going with pillies on Nth Enny in general - I've had a few blanks using them and have had more success with 20g and 30g chromies and walking the beach?
