  1. YES - IN! Sending PM now, with the charter i discovered on web
  2. i'm down for a kingfish charter 100% i didnt know they existed specifically for kings until the other week when i came accross one of the charters website, and some mad reports i just went on a deep sea reeef bash about 4 weeks ago - if i had of known there was secific king charters, i would have done that for sure they reckons its going quiet, but also he big ones remain - i'm still ready I just ordered a Penn Spinfisher 850 to go with my boat rod, going to load it with 30lb braid, and it will be my big bait basher just resting out there in low gear, whilst i flick my plastics about at the markers with my lighter spin outfit.
  3. mate i spent a few years at urunga back in the 90's Get some live poddy mullet and chuck off the breakwall Get some soft plastics and go flcking up the lagoon Pump yabbies, and chuck them anywhere. You will get someting - Its a very healthy area, and when i went back to visit in 2004 the same tricks worked in the same areas
  4. where have you been going - land-based or boat?/ i'm gonna keep doing this on a regular basis thru-out winter and when it warms again and the kings run begin go alot harder - maybe everyweekend i'll pm you for next session in a couple of weeks.........always weekends, i work the usual 8-5pm mon-fri, and ruins my fishing lifestyle balance i know the kings are going quiet as it gets colder..........but i'll still keep trying
  5. i'm in the same boat as you - without a boat living here 30yrs never to hook a king.........athough i have only until last few years, had the knowledge of where to go, what to look for and what to use been hiring tinnies alot recently to no avail - been using soft plastics, as they are effective, and i am a massive fan of them - especially on flatheads so i got a medium spin snapper rod to get as much soft plastic action witha flick i've just gotto be at the right place at the right time - it hasnt happened yet bets bet is live squid.........but i want them on sp - i will keep trying and plugging away, hiring the rosebay tinnie but i also gotto branch out to botany - but dont know if u can rent tinnies there
  6. hi raiders I've been taking out the tinnies at rose bay the last few weeks.........its pricey, but u expect that in rose bay......he says u should OT go outside of rose bay, but i have been drifting down to watsons bay, hitting the markers around. but after some poor sessions on the harbour, i'm ready to try a new hunting ground............BOTANY BAY Where can i hire a tinnie and smash botany bay?
  7. id just go with a 4000 size spinning reel - nothing bigger shimano symetre, sedona, diawa or penn spinfisher. they wont break the bank, and will do the job for snapper.....
  8. you're echoeing my vision mate, I just got a Shimano Mexican Raider II Snapper spin 762 model 5-8kg to pair up with my Sedona 4000 And then stocked up on some Gulp 5" jerk shads, in natural colours like sardine and blue pepper and sluggos in 6" nd 9" in white and panthom blues Then got some jig heads ranging in hook size from 3/0 to 5/0............7-14grams in weight I havent used any of this - got i all this week, but i am confident of the equipment......i just need the fish to meet me somewhere I'm mainly targeting kings in the harbour, but i know this will work with snapper, also. I've been using soft plastics for years...........but mainly for flathead on 2-4kg whip, and 2500 reel........they are deadly Here's hoping my heavier/medium outfit can bring in some pelagics of the harbour Also thinking of getting some larger jerk shads of the 7" variety to add to the collection All you need is a 4000 size reel, and a good spinning whip thats strong for snapper.............the rod much more important, it provides the action to the bait making it look tasty, and the lighter the better for long casting anything unweights
  9. what size jigeads are you supposed to use for 5" and 7" shads? I've got some jigs with 3/0 hooks for the 5" size shad but they just look like they are going to dominate the shad, and take all the life out of it - basically the look too big
