  1. i know what you went through, i had a boat that every time i took it out something would go wrong, so i decided to upgrade to a haines 630f, as for the wifes tagging along, we tried it once and once only, when you go fishing u are meant to relax, but our wives had other ideas, they would not stop wingeing from the time we got there to the time we left.that was the last time we took them
  2. hey guys, after we where set to attend the jew social on saturday night, there was a change of plan as we had to attend a family gathering,so we decided to head out on friday . there was jewnut,my brother and myself ,we get to the boat ramp around 2pm, where the wind was blowing atleast 20 knots at the boat ramp, not a great start.after deciding that nothing was going to stop us , we ventured out on our mission to land a jew.firstly we head out to our favourite kingy spot, in search for a feed , but as the swell and wind picked up, we decided to head back in to shelted grounds.we trolled around lion lisland and caught 2 tailor, beautiful , straight in the live bait tank they go.after trolling for about 10 mins, a school of salmon appeared in front of us, we grab the lures and start casting into them, the first cast lands us a salmon, approx.65cm.could not catch any more for some reason.we trolled around the head lands where we get a double hook up on kingys, both 55cm,spewing back in they go.we set the rods again ,start trolling and this time a triple hook up, as we where bring them in, there was at least 20 other rats swimming with them, it was amazing, but all under size.then the dolphins moved in , and within 5min the party was over,so we headed to west head to get yakkas. we only managed to 4 yakkas ,1 live sqiud , 2 blackfish and a chopper tailor.it was time to start our mission, as the tide was out far from its peak. we get to our spot, and out go the rods. 1-live squid 2-live yakka 3-1 blackfish[live] 4-1 butterfly tailor 5-1 live tailor 6-1 slab of salmon it was now the waiting game. after 2 hours of sitting there, the time had come when you hear zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, as my brother starts to fight this fish, jewnut and myself clear the deck.10 mins later we get colour, and it wasnt a jew,it was a port jaskons shark, approx 120cm, it was massive.no photos as the camera was left at home.the tide was being to turn so we decided to move . after spending all night on the , we managed to catch 2 flatties,2 kingys the following day, and no jews
  3. hey mate, we went out on friday and come across a school of kingies which where all under size.there were at least 30 swimming aronud our boat, which made it good fun catching and releasing.we played with them for about 30 mins hoping there was a legal kingy in between them.anyway we saw about 20 dolphins heading towards when they decided to crash the party.at one stage we saw 2 dophlins demolish a kingy each, it was unbelieveable the way they attacked.anyway the dolphins moved on and so did the kingys, spewing. i reckon as soon as you see dolphins ,its time to move.i was wondering has anyone ever hooked a dolphin while fishing, as a couple off times we 've being trolling and the lures are in there face ,and they never seem to touch them
  4. hey netic, was that your boat parked on the sand with the fishraider sticker on it,i was in the haines signature about 50 meters away,i was going to say hi but wasnt sure if it was you,we took the kids out for a fish ,but no good so headed back in before that gale force wind got to us
  5. mate ,thats fishing, we where out there on saturday and the same thing happen to as, no tuna in sight.apprently they came on at 4.30 in the afternoon,o well better luck next time
  6. ventured out to browns to be meet by a beautiful day on the water, could not ask for better conditions.got a few livies and started to head out ,we got to the 12 mile and out went the lures.we began to troll towards browns when we spotted a fin sticking out of the water, as we got closer ,we relised it was a mako, approx 3 meters long.in come the lures ,out goes the wire trace with a livie on the end off it.the second line goes out with stipe tuna head and guts attached to a balloon, for about 30 mins we try to catch this monster when we realised that it wasnt interested.so we ventured out to browns.we fish about 4 mile south off browns.we trolled ,we cubed for about 4 hours , and again with no luck .it was about 1pm ,so we decided to troll back to the shelf and then called it a day.what really pissed me off, in the morning when we trolled around the 12 mile for about an hour or so for no suceess,we decided to head to browns ,as we reached our spot, ewe heard a few 35 kg tuna where been caught back at the 12 mile,o well, thats fishing i guess, all in all, it was good to get out .it was that calm out there that on the way home we where doing 40 knots.

  14. went out to the hawksbury fads to be met by jumping dollies.before heading out, had 2 get livies, we got about 30 or so and they where just the right size to get smashed by those hungry dollies.sent out 3 livies and as soon as they hit the water ,triple hook up, each about 75+80 cm.got the next 3 out, same thing, triple hook up.65cm+70cm.they where smimming around the boat, jumping in front of us , it was full on.my mate has never seen dollies in action before, so u can imagine,he was freakin out.so we trolled back up to the fad, to be met by another 3 boats who had seen us haul in dollie after dollie.in total we got 9 dollies .within 5 min off the other boats turnig up, they turned off.we tried pillies, squid strips, lures, but just werent interested.decided to head back in ,so we pulled up to our favourite kingie spot.we started to troll strip squid, again within 5min we were on with a double,78cm+70Cm, they went off.so we turn back to the spot and caught another 4,all on strip squid.after not catching any more decided to head back in, so we pull up to flint/steel ,sent out 4 livies .in the mean time we started to clean the fish ,throwning all the guts over board, the next thing you hear is zzzzzzzzzzzz, what the hell,it stopped.within a second, we were on,had to be a jewie 4 sure,it run for about 50m before the line busted off.we though enough was enough so called it a day.
