I am predominantly a rock fisherman. I have never even seen anyone legislate illegal fishing on the rocks, so what hope would there be in legislating wearing a PFD?

Caught this sexy beast thing at Stanwell Park beach a few weeks ago. I think it is an eel tailed catfish Was around 60cm long. Took a few photos then let it go. Anyone ate one of these before?

Hello raiders. I am looking for a longtail outboard kit. I already have a Honda 5hp motor. All I need is the engine mounting brackets, shaft (minimum 2 metres), shaft housing, and propeller. I would prefer to buy in Australia, but I am having a hard time finding a place to buy this kit in Australia. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am also very interested to know how Bass Pt is going. As for Hill 60, it is doing very well. Lots of Salmon, Bonito, Trevally, Squid... although it is always crowded and people crossing lines. With pilchards and prawns, you can get all these fish. Just my personal experience - I have had best luck on the south-east side using a rig under a float. Many snags otherwise.

Been to Windang a few times and fished near the bridge. Nothing but tiny fish. Tried prawns, worms, pilchards... all gets nibbled off quickly even when using baitmate elastic. Fished there in the afternoon to just after sunset. Am I in the wrong place or wrong time? Is the morning really that much better? I live a fair while away. I have caught better fish off Windang island, some nice Kings.

Wow, that's one hell of a story. Keep reading bad things about this spot so I think I'll give it a miss. Plenty of other places that are easier to get to and safer to fish from. I'll let my friend know.

So my mate had this fantastic idea to try a new fishing spot. Blue Fish Point, Manly. He did "some" research before hand but obviously not enough. We must have hiked every track on North Head, but still did not manage to figure out how the hell to get to this particular spot From the map it looks like it is behind the Water Treatment Plant, but this is all fenced off. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me a better understanding of how to get there.

Hi, I am curious where do people fish exactly at Gymea Baths? I had a look there once and there are signs saying no fishing but it it not clear if this only applies to the netted pool or off the sidewalk altogether.. Are you allowed to fish off the sidewalk that goes around the pool?

Yeh I see a lot of people fishing off the bridge, but I am pretty sure there are signs that say "no fishing off bridge" I wonder if anyone ever actually gets fined there...

Thanks for sharing this recipe, Noodles. It makes the Aussie Salmon edible, but for the effort required, I won't be making them again any time soon. Turned a 52cm Salmon into 15 good size fish cakes. Definitely filling. Half way there... Final product
