g'day martin mate they have a distinct taste hard to say what they taste like but if you enjoy your bread and butter fish like flatty and bream you will enjoy the taste.. only thing is bleed them if you dont it can leave a bitter taste in the flesh.. overall i rate them up there as one of my favourites... cheers livebait!!

im with you jed i use my grandpas old rod must be 50+ yrs old and its a gem.. its got different runners here and there been repaired about a thousand times looks like junk to my mates but i would not trade it for the world.. its good to see that grandpa was catchin niggas back then and im now with the same rod.. g'day raiders... what a day i just spent on the water with "huntingforjews".... i woke up this morning with that feeling you get when you no ya gana have a good day.. started about 10am off to mickys point in the georges, this spot has only produced once before hand but today was our day could not do a thing wrong downs left, right and centre they were on.. after about 3hours of full on hot action ended up bagging 20 nice keepers... we would have landed easy 40 throw backs maybe more... wat a day... hope everyone else had a great day!!! cheers livebait!! one of many "huntingforjews" catches

g'day johndevine i was fishing with a float with the weed just sitting off the bottom... i was suprised to get these fish here as i have not heard of any being caught there before.. actually i lie because i recall a day i took my mum down she caught a well undersize blackfish on pealed prawn on her fav hand line (she hates rods).. going back to the rig you suggest sounds like a top idea i must give it ago... cheers livebait!!

g'day raiders i got a couple of blackfish this arvo one going 33cm, i have no idea if this is good as i have only started fishing for them the past 2 weeks.. and im having heaps of fun, gezzz they fight well.. they were caught near the seafood restaurant in lugarno.. hope to post heaps more reports in future... regards live bait!!

g'day raiders my name is mark aka 'live bait' i live in the sth sydney region spending alot of time on the georges, land based and out of my best mates boat (huntingforjews).. i love fishing so much it has nealy broke me and my girlfriend up a 1000 times.. lol, but really i do alot of fishing mostly river with my pb out of georges being 44cm bream and 69cm flatty still chasing that first jewy.. alot of years, time, and money trying but i reckon this is the year.. since finding this site i have taken in all the advice given by the top anglers that roam this site.. i fish so much i can't explain.. my friends think im nuts sometimes.. a little about myself.. im 24..have a lovely gf, greenkeeper at roselands bowling club.. been in the trade for 7 years and love it..support the mighty sharks.. this is your year boys.. and thats about it.. oh yer and do too much of this lol.. regards live bait!!
