yeah ive found that also in the past always hit and miss but ive found 2 spots that i always bring fish home from.. there both hard to describe but il get the gps markings this sat when im there and post them on sunday for you.. 1 spot sits over a really small reef the area is about the size of my boat .. and i always catch good size bream and leather jackets,, and the other spot is not far away where i catch plenty of black fish,, .. but im looking for the whitting and the big fish this saturday ??

hey te here fellow raiders we are heading off to the hacking this saturday and putting in at the ramp at gymea, any one know off and good spots in the hacking that are going off at the moment ???

has any one ever tried freezing nippers as its not always pratical to pump for them every time u go out fishing ????????? and where is the best beaches in south sydney e.g- brighton - to catch sand worms ???

ok thanks for the advice fishingrod, im pretty sure that its the act eletric motor itself as when ever it stops a few taps with a hammer on the eletric motor and it gets going again. we looked at taking the motor off and its almost impossible to get the eletric motor off the power tilt and trim,, unless there is a secret way ????????????

Hello there fellow ive got a mid 90's 140 hp johnson v4 which is having probs with the power tilt and trim, it seems that the eletric motor keeps seezing up, can any 1 recomend and good boat mechanics in the roselands area in south west sydney,

hey there fellow We are heading up to the hawkesbury river this comming sat we will be putting the boat in at the ramp next to the freeway. Can any one please tell us of any good spots in the river to try ?? as it willbe our first time in there and really dunno where to go or what to look out for ????? if some 1 could tell us of a good few spots to try and if there are any dangers in the area ??

hey there. about a month ago i was out on the port hacking with my wife and we got flagged down by a jet ski...... who had a broken throttle cable i happily towed him back to the boat ramp which was about a 20min tow got him back to the ramp and ge gave me $20 . i have towed a few people in the past and never ask for anything but a thank you. i havnt needed to be towed yet. i always double check the small things like plenty of fuel and good batteries ect.... but i really do feel for the people who break down on the water,

hey there fellow im also staying up there at the moment, well im in sydney until 2morrow then il be heading back up there for 10 more days, but boatless until next wednesday, ive talked to a few of the locals up there who tell me that there is a lot happening outside at the moment, and when i come back to sydney on tuesday and then head back up wednesday night il have my boat with me so il try outside and hopefully get a few nice ones

hey there mate, i was fishing out in the hacking a few weeks ago approx 2, and my old man caught a shark i have no idea what it was except it was a shark approx 2/3 feet long and while we were heading outside and playing around the heads and spotted a fin in the water it turned out to be a dark shadow about 5/6 foot long with a great big fin comming out of the water,

hello there fellow ive got a early 90's johnson 140hp , when i start it up in the water it idles ok but when you take off and then return to idle it idles way to fast ?????? i know im doing something wrong and when it got fitted i fitted all the controls myself. ooppsss can some one please tell me or show me how to fix it, as it was running perfect before i put it on my boat, i live in roselands but can tow the boat anywhere in south sydney, i contacted my boat mechanic who said ( good luck trying to get it fixed b4 x-mas) . and im taking the boat down the coast on sat and sunday and then im off up to the entrance early jan 06. please some one show me or tell me how to fix it

wow aron, i must admit since then the is not really eager to go up he front either, i wonder if this is a common thing with the bowriders ??? from now on when i go out fishing im putting the cover that covers up the area where the lounge in up the front so that if it happens again it won't be such a big problem,

Hello there fellow Went out into the hacking last sat we put the boat in at grays point and started making our way down the hacking and we got waved down by a jet ski that had broken down and he asked for a tow to duchies, so we towed to the boat ramp and then finally got some fishing done, pulled up at 1 of my secret spots. and pulled in what would have to be the biggest leather jacket ive ever seen, stayed there for about 30 mins and up anchored and went to another of my fav spots where we caught about 20-30 throw backs , a lot of small baby kingies, kept 5 good size black fish on beach worm which ive never heard of, 4 good size trevally, 2 big, and the big leather jacket, last sat was amazing on the hacking, just fish ever where, we hooked up what i think was a good size king and the young kid we took out was bringing it in and just as it came to the boat i saw a flash of silver and it took a dive and snapped the line, it was a great day and can't wait till i do it all again this sat

hey there, i went out on the harbour last year in my boat to see the fireworks and il be out there again this year but be carefull i dont think u should use any of the ramps near the harbour as i did last year i used the canada bay ramp and even that we got back to the ramp a 2am we didnt get the boat on till 4.30am.so this year il be putting it in at silverwater and the harbour gets totally shock a block full exp just after the fireworks .

hey there fellow fishos, last monday my wife and decided to take out my cruiser craft hustler 570 bowrider for a cruise around botany bay, so we put the boat in a lugarno and noticed on the way out into the bay it was a bit windy. we anchored up about 30-40 metres from brighton to do a little bit of swimming, but on our way back from brighton as we came around sans souci just opposite towra point i noticed that the swell was a little bigger but didnt think anything off it as ive been in bigger swell before. i was only doing about 12-14 knots and my wife was up the front as its a bowrider and i went over the 1st set no problem then as i dipped into the 2nd set as i came up the back of it pretty much the hole nose of my boat prob about half a metre a least dipped into the wave quick thinking had me giving the throttle full power and brought the nose out of it but a wall of water came over the front and soaked my poor wife and the wall of water came thru the boat and over the screen, boy oh boy didnt i get a . has this or something similar happened to any one else ??

hello there fellow i upsized from a 15foot to a 5.7m 6 months ago and i find that my 5.7m is great outside but even when i had the 15 footer i still went outside but kept my eyes on the water for any change in the movement and always listen to the coast guard and fellow fishos when outside, but like every one said , just pick your days , you may head out to the heads 10 times a month but find that you can only get out side 2 out of those 10 days,

hey there fellow just a quick question i got a 1992 140hp johnson v4 oil injected. but i disconnected the oil injection since i dont trust them and am curious abour the ratio of fuel to oil ?? at the moment i use 20:1 ratio but was told by my father that its to much oil ???

sorry to but i know how you feel, a while ago my dad and i went out fishing in botany bay and went out to the heads , we were onlt there for about 10 mins and another boat pulled up about 5m from us but mind you there wasnt another boat at the heads, some people just have no idea, and a while ago i was in the georges river just near como bridge and i was just minding my own business fishing away and then a couple of jet skis decided to circle around me for 5 mins thinking it was funny to make me stop fishing . so haveing a very short temper i picked up the biggest sinkers that i could find and started throwing sinkers at them. they soon got the idea. like i have always and will always say.... AS SOON AS YOU PUT SOME 1 ON THE WATER THEY LOOSE ALL COMMON SENSE.... i really think that there needs to be more education about the water.

well i think you first need to decide if you want a fiberglass boat or a tiny. ive found that for choppy water the fiberglass is best as it is less bouncey and much more stable but it is a little heavy, the tinies are great for shallow water as you dont have to be to worried if you hit a sub merged rock while drifting or at the boat ramp as they are pretty strong. Then you need to think about your budget. i have found myself that its a good idea not to spend all of your budget on the boat as you need to think of after purchase expenses like motor servicing and any eletrical work as well as life jackets.ect you should be able to get a nice 1st boat for around the $3k to $6k mark

hey mate, ive got a crusie craft hustler 5.7m long. its got the eletric winch on it which makes it easier but dont ever turn off ur car when you are using the winch as they drain heaps of power and ive got guide rollers on the back of my trailer and they are worth there money as you dont have to worry much as long as you dont reverse to deep in the water.
