  1. Im pretty sure it's a scaley grinner, saw one on tv, they are pretty common up around noosa in QLD. I caught one at portstephons, but unfortunatly let it go as i was later told they make good live baits for jewies. cheers james
  2. Anyone see the colour of the water off newcastle??? it is a feral colour, almost like an oilspill. It would be awsome towing lures and livies around the endge of the dirty/clean water. cheers james
  3. Thats a nice set of launchers for sale on ebay, you would want to get measurments before purchasing. cheers james
  4. We also are cruuently looking for rocket launchers. We were offered the design that evets posted but were looking at carrying gameoutfits so ZERO trust in the plastic stuff. Let us know how you go. cheers james
  5. Well trial and error it is , will spend the next few trips trial and erroring with a variety of lures. I was using rexhunt popper with a rattle inside. cheers james
  6. Hi guys I tried using a few small metals and a popper around bare island in botany yesterday and i was really surprised i didnt get anything. I also used a berkly 5" stick bait sp around the oil wharf for only a small hit. The water was really dirty, would the dirty water have an effect on my catch rate, and was it really worth throwing the lures around? I noticed that my hookup rate was very low compared to when the water was clean. cheers james
  7. Hi mate The bay was pretty slow yesterday, top whiting 41cm is a thumper. What ramp did you launch at? I fished with luke(wildfish) on his boat around the bay and ducked outside when the seas died down for 2 tailor around the 32cm mark at bare island and 2 pesky eels. cheers james

  11. Hi mate I run jarvis walker herculess braid on all my braided outfits ranging from 6lb-80lb about 5 outfits. I have found i have never had to change the line. I have a tld20 2 speed loaded with 80lb braid(yes overkill i know) it's been on ther for 2 years, i use it for trolling, live baiting, jigging, bottom bashing and it still has retained it's yellow colour and has not fluffed up yet. Some people will disagree and say it is a load of $#!t but im happy with my results and i haavnt snapped off on it yet Cheers james
