Snapper and Kings and Tuna love them as well as others. Great looking things, only prob we've found is the dacron is not THAT strong if you hook a monster King.

Anyone watched the Tuna Wranglers show on Discovery last two weeks about SBT Aquaculture off Port Lincoln, was a good insight although they take soooo many fish..

Thats the biggest one ive ever seen!
Monster...

dosent look anything like a pikeie to me more like a short finned eel. fibbo try my method the eels dont even get near me i hold the line in one hand and a sharp knife to chop em in half with the other:P
I used to think like that too, but every living thing has a purpose, im sure the Eel wasnt designed for people to chop its head off

we r going to go chase them this sat of broken bay..... anyone know the water temp?
let you guys know how we go.
Jack
From SST's it looks to be a steady 22deg or more.

It depends on the depth, if its not too deep, you cant go wrong floating live squid out in shallow water, Kings love them. Float fishing is the best way to get fish off the rocks, no need for sinkers at all.

Nice work.
You guys should put one out live, my mate got a 12kg Kingy on one off the rocks the other day. Live Trev's are a good option at the moment.

Dont be scared to use Doll's live at the fads, a big bull Dolly will eat a smaller one no probs.
-
That's interesting, I like the fact that it can be saved if its stuck dead on a rock for example.
Off course your main line must be strong.

Great idea Stewy, a game fishing seminar would teach alot of newbies well....alot hehe

Then Saw the whole school take off at the horizon at a 100miles an hour skipped the surface a couple of times and gone big predator I think and the action stopped.
Would have been a big Blue cruising thru, 2 years ago saw 2 x 5kg Dollys leaping, heading straight for us, we were trolling at the time, we did a U-turn and chased them only to see them jump one more time, as the second Dolly tried to leave the water a Big Blue smashed it with its bill and at it, awesome sight.
Well done on getting some fish champ.

I have found the Yamasheetas if snagged can be pulled off as the prongs are very soft and can bend backwards whereas the Yozuri's dont, but I find the Yozuri's far better than any others when it comes to catching squid.

Gold, literally!!!!

Serirously guys thats a top effort and top fish, congrats to you guys, what a PIG of a fish!!!!!

Snapper lead and sit it on the bottom, i have float fished for Jews when the tide stops and its only about a 5min window for you to do it. It can work, sort of like cubing for Yellowfin and you strip line off as it floats out.

I have found the Gold dynamite, slow jumps off the bottom, even a jigging action is good. Sometimes you just leave them in the rod holder and do nothing. Let the motion of the ocean do the work for you.
