Its true, Tabcorp need more people to bet so early morning talks with horse trainers will be necessary to the betting public.

A simple Baitrunner will suffice.
Big Jews dont go THAT hard!!!

Hmmm looks like a normal Eel to me????
Not a Pike Eel.

Happy Birthday Stewy, you hold your age well.

Definitely legit, it was caught spinning off a North Nsw Coast from memory.
It was a Black, most Billfish look like that when small and hard to distinguish between them.
-
Well done Greg, top stuff and the feeling is unbeatable getting your first for the boat.
Steve well done too, and nice boat.

Tide change would be the same, sounds like you are doing things right, maybe just no fish around?
I wouldnt be changing lures too much, if any just shotgun, and run a spread of lures that catches fish. Fish dont necessary have to be at Browns, water may have been too hot there, look for 23deg water, much better than 26deg water. Have you guys caught Marlin or Tuna before, perhaps going out with someone that knows what they are doing will teach and help.
All the best.

Congrats guys, top stuff.

Try a Tawadi, they are awesome

i only swear by one lure for Dolly's it is a black Magic Jetsetter in Burple, with a twin hook 6/0 O'Shaunessy hooks on 120lb single strand coated wire to an 80lb trace,, it will catch any dolly if they are there set far back just out of the prop wash. If i had to put my money on one lure it would be this one, it is dynamite in my books.

Cast it away from the wharf and use a sinker, what were you fishing for? A fish wont have a problem picking the fish up off the bottom if its there.

There are Jerk Shads that Glow, by Gulp, they would work very well, we have used them with success, spray them with ultrabite or gulp juice or something, it helps. Most white Glow minnows will be great for you. Even the new Lucanus type jigs glow, either from any brand

Seen a few guys have success under the Spit Bridge using poppers and Rapala X-Raps if thats any help?
Lots of casts between fish though.
-
Well done both of you.

All i can suggest is that if you want a big Jew, you got to use BIG BAITS, strips off a Tailor will not get you a big Jew, use that whole Tailor Live, this may entice them, its like offering a 130kg bloke a measly cheeseburger, he wants 16 big mac's!!!!!!!! Dont be afriad to use a 45cm Tailor live or butterflied, whole squid the size of your arm, or massive Cowan Young. The places you fish hold big Jew at the turn of the tides but they simply wont accept your little strips of bait.

There are nice Tailor around the moorede boats there, Bream too and Flathead and possibly Salmon, fish light.

Nice fish, can i ask where you got your ruler/sticker from? Mine only go to 90cm. Would love a 1m one, we got stuck into Sambo's a month ago offBroken Bay and they were all that size, hooked well over 100 of them in 3 hours, gee they go alright at that size on 6lb!!!!!

All great advice, but the speed you pull the line down or pull away with the rod can cause variables, pull to slow and you get a low reading, pull too fast and it will give a higher reading, generally walking pace is the right speed. Better shown in real life than in theory.

After you free them, just keep spraying them with 100% pure silicon spray only, it will keep them like new.
