  1. Hi everyone, Have just been doing a bit of research but I don't know this area too well about NMEA2000. From what I gather, Lowrance have some digital gauges very similar to the i-Command gauges used on the etec. To hook them up I believe you need to have NMEA 2000. So if your outboard carries NMEA 2000 networking technology, you should be able to connect to these Lowrance gauges correct?
  2. 3, if you follow the line it flows with the curve of the whale.
  3. Wow, ocean looks so flat! Where abouts are you? Congrats on the catch!
  4. Hi, My parents are selling their house which they have lived in for over 20 years. They are planning on going seperate ways. My question is with the money they get from the sale, im planning on keeping it for them in my bank account where i have a home loan to offset the interest until they are ready to purchase again. Are there any fees or taxes that i have to pay if i was to dump for example $500,000 in my account? Thanks.
  5. I normally stay at curraong. Nice caravan park. Gives you the option to fish outside the heads or in the bay quickly. So depending on which way the wind is blowing you can choose a side. Plenty of room. You launch at currong to go outside and fish the reefs, cliffs etc. or you launch from callala bay for the inside. Callala bay is very good for launching on your own. But bit of a drive to middle grounds etc.
  6. Are you referring to colours reef?
  7. Have you heard of quickboats? Saw them at the boat show. Google that.
  8. Can you post a pic of the boat? You talking about the 225 weekender? The ones on boatsales are running 5.0L v8 inboards. Also if thats the one, i wouldnt be fishing off it with that classy interior.
  9. Yea I've used something similar but on heavy stains, it takes a while. This takes it right off without waiting etc.
  10. Yea i take the second set of lights. Come around and go through the last set of lights heading back to the ramp.
  11. Hi guys, I live in baulkham hills. I have the national parks pass too. I used to go kurungai, broken bay and berowra all the time but love going roseville. Closer to the heads than drummoyne. Nice ramp, nice place. Just have bait and fuel ready on the night before. Also suggest you drive first with no boat as coming from hills you have to do a U turn to enter ramp. Just get familiar with the place.
  12. Well the way I see it, I have never gone over seas, never really been into the clubbing scene either so don't spend on the weekend shouting rounds I agree it's a lifestyle decision, it's definitely not an investment, but like you say the memories you have, in my eyes anyway are priceless.
  13. Hi mate, Where are you launching from? Currarong or inside the bay?

  15. Huey is up around the central coast, site sponsor. Cowan, been there several times, he knows his motors!
  16. Hey mate I am sure you will be able to remove the radio at least. Should be some screws holding the radio in then the cable leading to the base which probably only has another 4 screws. Might need a sharp knofe to go through the skilaflex but that should be the most of it. Save $200 If it was me i would try and find the same radio, reverse the process and you have installed a new radio. Think you need a cert for vhf but not if its an emergency.
  17. Just to make sure, this isn't my first boat. lol I am not that crazy! This would be my 6th boat!
  18. I know what you mean about the popularity haha, all of a sudden your uncle cares about you
  19. Good answer there Mike, thanks for shattering my dreams I totally get where you are coming from though, so thank you for your reply in all honesty. Let's see what others think. Maybe get a Wife first, she can pay the other half.
  20. Hey guys, Thinking of buying a brand new boat, not sure whether its the best idea, I mean I could use that $75k wisely somewhere else but something is telling me to buy it regardless I'm 32 btw! I'm not even a good fisherman, but love being on the water casting a line or hanging out with mates. Now just curious to see how old you were (if you wish to say) when you bought your new boat, what brand, motor and if you still have it? Have you had any issues? Any regrets? Do you ever wish you bought an investment property instead or use that money wisely somewhere else? Just curious to see what other raiders have done
  21. Yea but this torch is my spotter. Its not the floating torch required. I actually carry a diving torch too. Comes in handy if you ever drop something or forget bungs at night
