  1. Yea i have 3. Have the padlock through the coupling One around the tow ball and trailer (when parked) Clamp on the trailer wheel.
  2. Someone will move this to the boating section. Get better answers there.
  3. Hi mate, I think there is a post with a check list or common things people forget. For me it's all about getting into a routine. I'll add mine below: Walk around boat first: Make sure outboard is trimmed up Nothing hanging out of boat Straps are on Oil in the boat (if 2 stroke) Everything is secured I leave boat keys inside boat so I don't forget Hook it onto trailer. Make sure it's sitting on towball right Safety chaines on Light plug in Padlock in coupling Check brakes on trailer etc Drive boat out a few metres and then I hook up the hose to the motor and fire it up. Make sure everything is working. Lights etc I then load the boat with all my gear. Once that is done I do another lap around the boat and the trailer and check the coupling. Make sure safety chain is on boat and winch is on tight. At the ramp: But bungs on, I tighten them with pliers. Not over tight. Remove straps Tilt motor up so doesn't scrape the ramp Squeeze fuel pump if you have to Make sure boat keys are in the ignition Everything secured inside the boat Aerial goes up Check where you are launching boat first Reverse boat down ramp Lower engine trim Fire motor and I let it warm up a bit before I take off. Remove safety chain Then un winch the boat Away you go! They are my steps!
  4. Hopefully it wasnt a raider. Was at roseville boat ramp on saturday when an alloy boat was sitting on the trailer after much effort. I sat next to the guy that helped them put it on the trailer. From what he told me the boys had taken out their new boat and forgot to put the bungs in. By the time they realised and headed back the motor was submerged at the ramp. Anyone know them? Wonder how the motor would be.
  5. Of the repairs. Want to see the level of detail
  6. Good job mate, nice outcome. Any more water since the fix? Can you post pics of the finished job?
  7. Pfft, not gonna iron my shirt to go fishing
  8. I have heard good reports about the 140HP, have also heard about the corrosion issue on suk models but like the other brands, they have fixed it, and was on the earlier models... so they say. There is a boat show on this weekend and you can talk to the dealers and see what they have to say.
  9. Pulled a 1m Hammer head. There are sharks around the reef. I use live yakkas on floats.
  10. I run fireline on my boat roads. Was thinking that because casting against wind can be a pain and on a good day i might need to cast out further. Thanks for all the help.
  11. Do you mainly do beach fishing?
  12. Haven't considered an Alvey setup. What are the advantages?
  13. So went beach fishing over the weekend and realised my reel has died. This setup was over 12yrs so thought its time to upgrade. Going to buy a 12ft rod and reel combo. Just want to know what is the best line to use to spool the reel? Should I use braid for beach fishing or stick to mono? Will just be targeting Sambos and whatever comes across. Thanks

    Winch Strap

Did you drive up or push the boat most of the way up? If its fairly new and if you can, try and winch it up with a few metres of the strap out. That way it will be tight all around the drum. Then next time it will grab on more and u dont have to do it that way.

    seebreeze

I use all of them everytime and from what i have gathered they have all been out for the last year or so. Before you could rely on all of them. If you look at seabreeze on Monday and think great saturday looks awesome, i suggest you wait until friday or early saturday to decided. They just keep changing so often. I find willy weather a bit more stable.
  16. Being a firefighter at the airport, do you get much action happening?
