Sorry i don't drink beer, but do watch footy. Oh and i don't think any woman is perfect, come on seriously i know you guys don't belive in perfect women, we are whingers aren't we Next time you see us out in the Mary Kat say hi
  2. thanks for the compliments, the line was tied to the back of the boat and i just tightened the drag to give the illusion that i was hooked up. When fishing is such a big part of my life, i had to include it on the day.
  3. Hey, Thought some of you might get a chuckle out of this, it is at Berowra. Thought it would be a great shot seeing as i fish constantly with my father, couldn't go a day without the rod in my hands even on my wedding day. I am not going to lie and say it got away or anything else, the line was tied to the boat. We only did it for the fun and didn't it come out well.
  4. my father made them using some timber and the rod holders you can buy at any finshing shops. they are very handy, the rods never tangle or get broken.
  5. One went on a live yakka, the other was brought in on a fillet of yakka, it was too big to use as a live bait. over at CG we got a rat on a livey as well. Thanks for the encouragement.
  6. Hey there, Went out on Harbour on Sat, Started the day at 5am at Tunks ramp, went and got livies easy as ever, then headed around to cliffton, few boats there, sat there for a while dad brought in a King just on legal, so we threw him back. Not much on the bite so headed over to Quarantine Pt. Had been there for half hour when Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz off goes my rod, got it in a keeper YES! just as i lifted it into the boat my dad's rod goes off, on the way up we thought it was a shovel nose or ray as it didn't give up to much of a fight, until it got near the surface were it decided it wasn't ready to come in yet before it dived we saw the color and knew it was a king, the funny thing was there were a few others swimming up with it, finally boated it another keeper. was a great day out on the water
  7. thanks, stumpy, I got the hat from Maui, it may be a good luck hat now!
  8. Hey there, I just wanted to say thanks to the two Robs for organising an amazing day. I had one of the best days of my life thanks to the two of you and the team at Fishraider . And also thank you to Modern Fishing and Wattos for supplying the prizes. We started the day at 3.45am at Tunks, were we got one of the last parking spots, thank god, i didn't feel like walking far when i was still half asleep. Headed past offtap (your boat is awaesome) and a few others under the spit squiding. We went to get yakkas, and boy did we have fun, they were going mental, we had like 15 within the first 20mins of being there, and the best thing was there were no sweep or bat fish. We then procceded around to register, and got some breaky, thanks flightmanager for the great cooking. we decided to not go far and sat near the bouy at Cliffton Gardens, it was quiet for a little while, then all the boats around us started going off, eventually my rod went zzzzzzzzzzzzz....... it was awaesome, i love the fight kings put up, we tossled for about 15mins then it came in, one of the boats near us cheering. It was close to 65cm's we wern't able to get its correct lenght until we got to base, 64.5cm's . We then went out to quarantine head to see what was happening were my dad caught a king at 61cm's. 2 legal kings in the boat what an awaesome day

  10. Hi all, My names Katrina, I am 24 and yes female. I live in the Western Sub's area. I love my fishing and have been getting out every weekend of late. I go with my dad mainly, he lived on the Hawkesbury river when he was young, and we used to stay there all the time at my nan's, his family have lived on the river all their lives. I convinced him he needed to buy a boat nearly 2 years ago (haines hunter 630f signature named Mary-Kat after me and my sister) was the best thing he ever brought in his life, say hi if you see us out. We frequent the Hawkesbury, Pittwater, Harbour, south coast and go out on all nighters as well. Have just recently started doing a few comps and i love it. Every year we go to the south coast for a week and have an absolute ball, (being the only female i get to let loose and act like a guy while we are there). We also go for the annual marlin trip every year. I work full time, and also run a wedding decoration business. Recently got married and own a house with my hubby. Here is one of my favourite catches. Look forward to seeing you all at a social Fisherwoman
  11. We didn't really have any rods rigged big enough to bring it in, but we thought what the hell, we got our biggest livie and trawled for a while but nothing happened. we had a mate fishing off quarantine point who had a massive run on one of his rods with a livie on it, it was buckled over that much he couldn't get it out of the rod holder. who know's maybe it was the marlin, or a great king. It was the most beautiful site seeing the marlin so close to the boat, just hanging around on the surface, we couldn't believe our eyes for a while. Next time we go out we are taking a good rig and some big lures to see what will happen if we see one again.
  12. Hey there, Thought i would post what we saw when we were out on Sat 30/12. We were on our way back in from Colours when we saw a marlin tail in water, it was no more than 30 metres from the boat and just hanging around on the surface would have weighed close to 80kg's it was big. We couldnt believe our eyes we watched it for a good 10 mins before it dived. Believe it or not, but we have 3 witnesses (wish we had of got a photo).
  13. hey, got to the social late on Saturday, got the boat in the water and radioed to see if i could find wettingaline to sign in as he knew i was coming late. Had some help from someone in the begining then got some smart arses on the radio and gave up trying to find anyone. Flightmanager, that was me that you spoke to just before you came to the rail bridge not Allison, I saw you come past and head off to the road bridge. We tried the rail bridge first, nothing, then headed to a spot near bar point. Got a couple of PJ's so headed off to sugarloaf, caught a crab there so that was interesting, then headed out to Juno, passed 10 boats at the road bridge. Juno was a bit lumpy so we headed into Gunya point and stayed there for the night. even though no keepers caught, it was just a beautiful night to be on river and I cant wait to do it again soon.
  14. Hi there, Headed out on Saturday early morning from Tunks Pk, weather didn't look to nice, had troubles getting livies from our usual spots, also tried Watson's Bay. Thought about heading out to Colours but swell was a bit uncomfortable so headed over to Quarantine head were a large group of birds were working the water. Flicked around a lure for a while, but couldn't get on . Finaly got a nice Slimy (kept for bait). then headed over to Middle Head anchored up, within a few mins of the bait hitting the bottom, one rod went off, nice little red just under size, then 4 more of the same were brought in. Then my rod went of Nice flattie definately a keeper , Ended up with 2 nice flatties and 2 big flounders. also had some fun with a large shovel nose and very large about 1m PJ. All in all a good day out. Didn't take any pics on one of the PJ was to busy
