  1. Nice Sambo dude! Shame the Flatties weren't a bit bigger (still my favourite bread and butter chew!). Still, fresh tailor makes a good feed. Cool!
  2. Sounds like a good little session! See the value of some brownie points!?! I know what you mean about the head shakes, I always get my hopes up too! Roughly whereabouts? Near the Spit or further up in the system? Agree with MackAttack about Sugerloaf... Onya!
  3. Nice! It's good to go with guide to get a better idea of the lay of the land! A couple of questions.. Which guide ? (Mr Brown or Mr Lyons possibly ?) Where did you score the squid ? (around Bare Isl or Nth Head maybe ? You don't have to give it away if you don't want to !!) What time of day/tide did you get the squid ? And finally what time/tide did the Tailor fire up? I'm (hopefully) getting out there Monday so I was interested in your report... Tight Lines.
  4. Very nice haul! I haven't had much luck in the harbour lately apart from Bream, Trevs and small Snapper(which I've blamed on the cold water temps, so much for that excuse!) I have caught a slightly bigger red (44cm) up in Middle Harbour, but anything legal inside the heads is a bonus!! I bet that catch made a cold day feel a lot warmer... Tight Lines guys!
  5. Yeh, good spot. Gradual drop off from shallow flats to deeper water (5 - 8m)on eastern side, but plenty of rocks & oysters to snag on for about 20m from the shore. Caught a few Flatties on this side on run-out tide. On eastern side (upriver)there is a deep hole (15m) running parallel to the shore, and not far out (5 - 10m out). Seems to work on both run in and out tides from my experience there, other guys seem more impressed with run in phase. Bream in the hole, Flatties on the edges (depending on the tide phase), and supposed to be a jewie spot but I haven't scored one yet! I've fished it from boat and shore, generally caught something there. For me definately one of the best shorebased spots I've used... Tight Lines!!
  6. If I were you I'd keep the bait in the rig, I think it still acts as an attractant, both visually and as berley. It's like when you see them hitting up a bait ball, live bait fish everywhere, yet you can throw all sorts of baits and lures at them and they go for the smallest metal or a fly! The blood and guts gets them fired up but they will still be choosy! Nice one!

    Squid

Hey, nice one! I tried to have a go there last Thursday but the seas were still too big for me and my tinnie (Quintrex 3.55). What time of day were you fishing/squiding?
