Just realised the price on the Daiwa TD Sol II!! Anything in the 100-300 dollar price range would be perfect. Just looked at the shimano elf spin reel?

G'day Raiders I've saved up a bit of money and am planning on getting a new reel. The problem is i don't know which one to get!! I will be using the rod mainly for land-based fishing for bream, snapper, flathead etc (and hopefully the occasional king or jew). I have been looking at the Daiwa TD Sol II. I would prefer to use a spinning reel. If anyone has any recommendations they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance flattiefisher27

G'day raiders Headed down to balmoral today and hired out a boat for a few hours. Drove the boat just out into the moored boats off Balmoral Beach. Cast out and out the rod in the rod holder baited with a cubed pillie. Started to rig up another rod and the other rod bends in half and i go to strike and the fish is gone. Bit annoyed after that and gave up on the other rod and decided to hold onto the baited rod just incase the fish came back again. A few minutes later I was on to a decent sized fish not sure if it was the one from before but it gave a great fight. Ended up being a nice 48cm Flattie a new PB for me so I was stoked!!! It just went quiet for the rest of the day and tried a few other spots and there was nothing much but a few little snapper. Not a bad way to start 2014!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

G'day Raiders, Haven't really posted much recently as I haven't had the best of luck recently. Anyway me and my mate decided to head down to little manly on the rocks near the gasworks to go for a fish. Armed with servo prawns we weren't expecting to catch much and thought it would be a good chance to relax. The day started with a small bream a few cm's undersized and a small snapper. Things went a bit quiet after that and the fish seemed to have stopped biting. I then reeled in my rod to check it still had bait on the end and it felt like I had hooked onto a large bit of seaweed (we ended up having to stop fishing cause we lost all our sinkers as we only had 4 with us and their was a heap of oysters and seaweed which we got snagged on!!!) but this large bit of seaweed ended up to be a 30cm flounder a PB for me!! It was one of the strangest fights I have ever had in my 5 years of fishing!!! Everything went quiet after that and we only landed a small snapper. Hey raiders, Im having a look at fishing cremorne point wharf tomorrow. Just wondering is the wharf right out on the point? or is it somewhere else? Do you think it would be worth a try? I was also looking at kurraba point. Is there quite a steep drop off there? Do you think the water is within netting distance? Thanks in advance Flattiefisher27

I've seen a couple around the wharves pylons

didnt end up going for a fish. I have been to salt pan quite a bit and it produces lots of good sized bream and flounder. Whole or half pilchards are best

you can buy a special dive housing for the gopro hero 1 and 2 but the hero 3 black edition comes already has a sort of dive housing on its original housing but i would recommend the dive housing for the hero 2
