  1. Haha could not agree more, I completely forgot about this post and look where we are now! 55,000 views later!
  2. G'day Raiders, With summer on the way, the kingfish will be coming through in mass numbers and I was wondering what the best light setup for kings off a kayak would be, a rod that I could use for live baiting as well as trolling and flicking lures and soft plastics, and a reel to match the part to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Jacob
  3. It's great for bream, really good for casting into snaggy areas and around pylons etc it's very accurate and sensitive. Definitely worth picking one up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yep this is a gen black, wicked weasel too, paired with a 2000 Daiwa Freams with 6lb braid as well as 6lb leader. Best set up I've used so far for targeting estuary species, especially the flathead. Larger ones too I've landed then up to 75cm and it handled the fish with ease. If definitely look at getting one if you can get one. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Another two from today's session, the lakes is definitely producing. All fish have been released to grow into those bigger 70+ fish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Gday Raiders, Just a quick report, there are lots of flathead around the Narrabeen lakes area, fished this morning for a few hours around Woolworths bridge and the caravan park wading out on the sand flats, landed one 42cm flattie and dropped two more at my feet as I didn't have a net. 3" Minnows did all the damage in darker colours. Definitely worth a shot fishing the lakes if you can get around as its opened up and there is lots of action Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Would you count lip grips as scissors as they are the same sort of shape? [emoji28] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I was lucky to have been on a boat this time marcs, was my first time out on a boat at Narrabeen lakes and it was lucky enough to produce the goods, sorry to hear about your loss, you'll get the big girl next time round [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. G'day Raiders, First report in a while as I haven't had any success as of late lol. Got the opportunity to go out on a mates boat with my grandad and boy did we have some success. The best start to a day's fishing I've ever had, 3rd cast in and I hook up to a decent flattie on the sp's, a few minutes later we finally see the fish and God almighty we got a surprise it was a big lizard, and as soon as he saw the boat he was off, the reel was screaming and he took a bit more line out, got him to the boat again, same thing happened, this repeated a few more times until finally we managed to net the beast, and just when we brought him into the boat he fell of of the net and almost back on the water. We measured him up and he was 74cm and a definite PB for me, my previous biggest being only 48cm lol. I was lucky to have landed the big boy in the lakes as I was using a 2-6kg daiwa black gen with a 1500 Daiwa Freams with 6lb braid and 6lb leader. Was the greatest fight so far of my life and the adrenaline was insane! I could barely stand I was shaking so much because I was nervous I would lose the fish! So happy to have landed him! Through out the day my grandad got 3 more flathead ranging between 39-49cm and a few small bream and barely legal whiting between us. Was a fantastic day out on Narrabeen Lakes and one of our best fishing says to date. Thanks Jacob Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. G'Day Raiders, Haven't been fishing down at narra lakes in over a year now as I havent had much luck with the fish there. Ive decided to give it a go early tomorrow morn, near the caravan park where you can wade out onto the sand where the drop off is and ill flick a few plastics around for the flatties. Has anyone had much luck there recently? It looks quite fishy and ive seen a lot of people giving it a go recently. Just wanting some advice on whether its a fishable spot that will produce a few flatties, or if there is somewhere better i should try? Thanks in advance Jacob

  15. G'day Raiders, Titles pretty self explanatory!! I'm starting to try using soft plastics now instead of bait and would like to know some of the best spots to get some flathead on plastics in Pittwater for a plastics newbie. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks Jacob Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. G'day raiders, Recently moved into the careel bay area and am within walking distance of the careel bay marina. Been fishing it the last few days and all ive come up with is tiny bream, snapper and one big leatherjacket all around the pylons. Been using prawns and squid. Just wondering if anyone fishes the area much and what fish they have caught before and baits to use? Help would be much appreciated as im going to be fishing the area a lot over the next few years!! Thanks in advance raiders Cheers Jacob

  18. Thanks heaps again. Would these rods be heavy enough to handle a big flathead or even a rat king? I was thinking of maybe going up to the wicked weasel which is 2-6kg? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. G'day Raiders, Ive got a bit of a dilema at the moment. I have a $420 budget and i am looking at purchasing a light bream fishing setup. This is my first time where I am putting a fair bit of money into my setup but as i am moving within walking distance of pittwater id like to buy some good gear. There are two setups that I am looking at: Option 1: Daiwa Freams 2004 with a Generation Black GB 703LFS. Totalling around $350 Option 2: Daiwa TD Sol ii 2004 with a Shimano Raider Bream. Totalling around $400 What would you guys recommend? I'm open to ideas for other rods and reels aswell. And keep in mind i still need to buy braid to spool the reel with aswell as leader. Thanks in advance!!
