As you will all no doubt be aware there is a large range of fishing magazines out there. I was wondering which magazine people considered to be the best and whether they actually learned anything from them?

That was my concern about transferring fuel at sea. One wave (or my Dad refusing to sit still for 2 minutes) and you've got fuel in the bottom of your boat!

I have a 20 litre plastic fuel tank and would like to take some more oto allow me to stay out longer, or for emergencies. How do you guys do it, should I get a second tank or carry a jerry can? What do other people do?

Do you ever wonder whether people like Alan Jones or Piers Akerman really care about our interests? Alan Jones only wants people to listen to his radio statiuon so they can sell advertising and Piers Akerman only wants you to buy his paper so that you can look at the paid advertising. Jones has stumbled on something that has touched nerve with a lot of people and is milking it for all its worth!

The thing that concerns me about all this is that the Government has not come and and said that it is going to establish all the pmarine parks that p[eople like Alan jones says it is. The only evidence is alleged stat dec's from un-named people who claim thay spoke to un-named officials. Before I jump one way or the other i want hard evidence. I'm afraid that people like Alan Jones, often sensationalise and distort the facts to siut their own political views.

I've often gone to Sussex Inlet. There is a nice town with clubs cinema supermarket etc and are plenty of caravan parks along the river where you leave your boat in the water. A tinny is perfect for the inlet and St Georges Basin. We usually stay at Alonga Cottages, although we have camped at Badgee Caravan Park. Both of these places have websites.

I'm in the RFS and have access to pretty good weather forecasts, which have resulted in me not going out on 2 of the last 3 Sundays, when early in the morning the weather has been perfect. However, even the commercial news have got the weather right on those days. Dave is right don't take the chance.

I am very new to SP fishing and was wondering if anyone has tried Kokoda 'mad shads'. I was in **** today and they there were $4.00 for a bag of 5 fully rigged. I thought that was tremendouis value and got a couple of packets. Have I wasted my money?

I have been reading about you guys catching lots on SP and have decided to have a go myself. However, having never used them before the range of sizes, colours and jigheads available has confused me (a very easy thing to do). Can anyone offer me some advice on what I should start with. I mainly fish Botany Bay.

We also fished the Bay on Saturday. Put in at about 0800 due to a huge Friday lunch at Manly and fished the third runway, MP, the refinery wharf, the groynes at Kurnell and Brightom for 1 flatty, 1 flounder and a blue swimmer crab. The water temperature was 60 degrees f so that could be one reason!

Can a VHF use the same channels as a 27meg. There are some Uniden handheld VHFs on E-bay for about $180.00. Also what about licences etc for VHF?

We had to register our 12' tinny with a 9.9!

James, I had the sma eproblem, downloaded a number of programs and still couldn't do it. The by chance I found this method. Open the picture and then click on file. Choose open from the drop down menu and click on open in Picture Manager (or something like that). There is then a resize option and choose internet small. This worked for me and after about 20 other attempts I was able to post a picture of my boat!
