  1. It's really funny that this thread got brought up. This post is two years old but the funny part is I am going again in 3-4weeks! Lol Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. Definately take the boat up there! I took my Haines half cab up there with the family and we had a ball. Anchored up and jumped off rocks, caught fish trolling, drifted amongst the snags etc. and spent a day tubing around! It was a great weekend! Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. Nice effort Tag! That's a very nice bream indeed. Congrats on your PB and great report! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. If you see someone doing the wrong thing then report it!!! We can only lead by example!!!
  5. A few steep learning curves there luke! It will make you all the better in your future travels! And has probably helped a few other raiders as well. I bet your enjoying getting out and about in the boat though! Cheers scratchie!!!
  6. Unlucky mate! Seals are renown for stealing fish! I would have like to see him swallow a meter kingy though! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. That's exactly why I learnt to cook!
  8. I was talking to a mate yesterday that works for the fisheries up here and they are about to embark on a massive kingfish breeding program that will create at least 10 jobs for the area. I might have to put my hand up for that one! To add to this thread, never seen the kingfish population more healthy than it has been in the past few years! Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. That's awesome! A beautiful day for being out on the water! Catching fish would be a bonus! Enjoy guys Cheers scratchie!!! P.s. I love the rod!!!

Well that really puts everything into perspective Xsite. Life is short and we are here for only a moment in time. God bless you! Regards scratchie!!!
  11. That's means no fishing for me, too many bloody tourists!
  12. Try soldiers point caravan park! Same sort of thing but opposite end of the bay!
  13. Halifax caravan park, Nelson bay port Stephens! Right next to the ramp, snorkeling area, bay, ocean and beaches! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Great stuff Tag! That bigger one will come soon enough. But no matter what size, always nice to catch a jew! I wish I had more time to chase them! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Nice work! I'm yet to tick that one off the list! I've heard they go hard! Cheers scratchie!!!
  16. Theres some great advice above! Common sense is definately a "must have". I also have a saying " if it's in the drink, let it sink". An automatic reaction to having your gear swept in is to try and retrieve it. Many people are no longer with us just from trying to salvage their bucket or tackle box etc. A must have for me is a bucket with rope but also use one with a tight lid so it can be used as a life ring if needed! Cheers scratchie!!!
  17. For those of you that have been snapper fishing with me will tell you, when all sp's fail, "prawn on a jig head". I've caught some crackers using this method. Use a lighter jig than conditons determine put on a raw peeled prawn and cast as normal. If it hits the bottom, use long loops back to the boat! I've found this more effective than just hook and sinker. Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Nice Tara. Your very lucky to have a few options available to you! You can tell you've been fishing with swordy before from the photos Cheers scratchie!!!
  19. You always manage a few demondes! But I have to agree on the small side. Losing gear, well that's part of fishing browns especially when other boats have 1000m of line out for some reason???
  20. So how old are you chris? Your profile reads you are 13? Are you looking for someone your age in your area? Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. I don't envy you Harold. I went for a walk and it literally blew my dog off its chain! At least you can cast for miles! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. The shortcut fishes well on the tide changes. It's also worth throwing a few lures around the bridge for a few jew on the still of high tide. Don't go to heavy on your gear or you won't hook up but good luck getting them out of there. Catch 22 really! The Flatty should start to be more active in the next 4 weeks or so! Good luck Paul. Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. That's a great start to the season! Congrats to you and your daughter! They are the barra of the south. Cheers scratchie!!!
