  1. Thank you to all that voted and this was my first win out of many entries! Firstly, it was great to see so many entries for last month and more people getting involved. There are some fabulous fish and stories posted on this site and it would be great to see many more throw their hat in the ring for cotm especially with the great berkley prizes on offer! To the other entrants, well done on your fish too! Especially to our young raiders, Nikki, flattyfisher and Ethan. They are great fish to be proud of and it's awesome to see you getting out there and enjoying a favourite pastime with your family. Once again, thanks very much. Cheers scratchie!!!
  2. I have the fireline exceed 6lb on my new stradic and just love it. Can't even feel it coming off the reel. 0.09ml and tough as nails. Cheers scratchie!!!
  3. You can't beat port stephens!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  4. Haines hunter 470 breeze. Will handle any condition. Light and easy to tow. Can load and offload yourself. Licence for 5 inside and 4 outside. 75hp merc or equivalent. Around 20k. Will never need another boat! Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Pm's only. You can't name charters!
  6. Sounds like a great day out! Never trolled carp before but sounds like an idea! Lol. Always good to get out fishing with a mate that enjoys it as much as you do! Cheers scratchie!!!
  7. Have tried getting a radio check from marine rescue? They will happily respond. Best to make sure your safety equipment is working! Cheers scratchie!!!
  8. I'm with catchin jack! Try the berkley range. The trouble with fakes is you don't know what your getting. Some swim ok, some sideways etc! And the hardware is usually crap! Spend the money and get what you pay for! IMO Cheers scratchie!!!
  9. It's all good. I believe in karma! I won't make the same mistake twice!
  10. Sorry to say guys. Didn't get anything back and haven't heard from any authorities since! Such is life!
  11. Was speaking to the owner of a local tackle store today. He went out Monday and went 7-6-5. Got me excited. The preferred method was skip baiting! Think everyone's opinion is differing!
  12. I should be heading out too! What boat you on?
  13. Nice fish issue! The water is certainly colder than it should be but the weather is looking ok for Friday and Saturday. Just hope the wind improves too. I think it will start heating up from now though! Look forward to a few more reports over the coming weeks! Cheers scratchie!!!
  14. Oh baz! Lol..... Me, cicadas and a nice b-ass sounds like the perfect fishing trip! Would need to throw in a few tinnies as well. As diesel said, good place to fish early morning! Cheers scratchie!!!
  15. Pretty sure the reel is a stradic fj 2500. Those Sahara rods thought are magic!
  16. It is actually the 225 weekender with a 5.7 v8. Not worried about the interior. Just whether anyone has taken them offshore and how do they perform out there? Here is the pic......
  17. Bought the same outfit today to replace the outfit that went overboard last yakking trip! Glad you like it, I'm sure I will too! Haven't told the mrs yet, I'll just wait for her to get the statement. What line did you put on it??? I used 6lb fireline exceed and 8lb fluro. Can't wait to test it out! Cheers scratchie!!!
  18. Don't you think it will suit the type of fishing I'll do?It would be mainly for offshore and I will buy a tinny for the bay! Parts are a concern then! I really want to know how it would handle offshore. Is the hull and sides deep enough?
  19. What do you mean by that? Are they gas guzzlers?
  20. G'day raiders, A long story short.......... I want a bigger boat. I have a 2007 Haines hunter 470 breeze. It's the best boat and in good condition. But as mentioned I want something bigger. I have been offered a 2004 sea ray 225 in mint condition 5.7merc will a load of extras for $30k And have my boat sold no problem. Questions: Has anyone owned one of these? How do they perform? Are they any good for outside fishing? I know it's a bargain and I know the reasons why and I'm good with that. Would really love some feedback! Cheers scratchie!!!
  21. Enjoy my Stockton sand!!! Cheers scratchie!!!
  22. That's because most of the people on here are addicted to fishing. The older members are a wealth of knowledge and it pays to listen. Just like you listen to your mrs but try with intent. Lol. If your mrs is telling fishing stories and she talks you up, she's definitely a keeper! Look forward to your posts! Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. No problem. If you still struggling let me know. Good luck! Cheers scratchie!!!
  24. Just do a search..... Port stephens. If you can't find what you need there pm me! Cheers scratchie!!!
