  3. 6m stejcraft. Just an awesome boat!!! Took us about 1/12-2 hrs travelling at 10knots
  4. Hi raiders, Today I hooked up with a fellow raider wahoo76 and he was kind enough to use his awesome boat to go out for the first time for us both chasing marlin!!! After a few phone calls and with anticipation building we both arrived at the boat ramp way earlier than scheduled. Headed out to collect some livies and within 20mins had the tank full. Then we thought we'd stick to the plan we had discussed and set the spread from the light all the way to seal rocks. The weather was just awesome. But the water temp was only around the 22.0 mark. We continued our journey as planned and worked from broughton island to seal rocks for about 4hrs. We saw only 1 beakie jumping but could not entice the bite. Time for plan b, with livies at hand, we decided to drop some baits at the gibber and try our luck. After a few pickers, the livey on my rod goes off. Zzzzzzzzzz and we're in, about a 5min battle or so up comes a 1.7m black tip reef shark. Damn it!!! Was still fun but not what we we're chasing. We hit several other marks and wahoo 76 managed a nice flatty. Time to move again and we hit the sisters. There were bait schools everywhere so we dropped a range of baits and the action was constant. Wahoo managed a couple of nice snapper and I managed to drop my only keeper, a flatty at the boat. The drift we had going was perfect but time wasn't on our side and we had to head home. Although on the way home just to add insult to injury we spotted a small black at the front of our boat and managed to hit it at speed. We circled around to see if we could claim it but to no avail. All in all, a fantastic day on the water, I found a new fishing buddy for life and a top bloke he is!! Thanks heaps wahoo76. Cheers scratchie!!!
  5. Went out today with fellow raider wahoo76. Left the bay at 530 and had a full tank of slimeys by 600. Set the spread and starting trolling from the light at the 100m mark all the way to seal with no strike. Moved in closer to the 80m mark and saw a little black jump but could not entice a bit. Went to and fro from broughton to seal for 4hrs with no love. Worked the 60, 80, & 100 m mark. Water ranged from 21.6- 22.8. Not many boats out there today!! Was a nice day on the water though!!! Cheers scratchie!!!

  22. Sorry, that was received on the 25/01/13. I have not received this weeks as yet. The information was more about spots to fish and what was caught there. From my experience in the last week, the wind and rain have been a pain in the A, but the swell hasn't been to bad and yesterday was ok on the water. The weekend forecast is looking pretty good except for the wind which has been a lot stronger than forecast especially in the afternoon. Cheers scratchie!!!
  23. This is a report I receive each week on the action up here...... Hope it helps!!!! OFFSHORE - It’s all starting to happen on the Marlin scene especially on the inshore grounds. I ventured out on Born Free last Saturday and we managed to tag 3 from 5 small Black Marlin from the Big Gibber to Seal Rocks. I also heard reports from Viking 11, Shelby, and Ambition all releasing fish. A few trailer boats have also getting in the action trolling smaller 6inch skirts especially the Billmarks and Zacatacks. The FAD is producing a few Dolphin fish but it’s been changing day to day. There have been reports of cracking Snapper being caught on the deeper reefs with fish up to 7kgs coming from edith wide and the wide Gibber. A few of these fish have been falling victim to slowly worked Lucanus jigs. There has also been the odd decent Pearl Perch coming from the same areas. Trolling the washes around the islands is a good way of getting a few Bonito and the odd Kingie especially on larger bibbed minnows. Cheers scratchie!!!
