Heading up to Port Macquarie in a few weeks for the Bream Classic. Anyone raiders fishing it? Looks like a huge field - 71 boats entered so far...

The trev fought hard, went under and around the boat a couple of times and took line on a few good runs,( 4lb braid, 4lb leader ) pity we didn't catch bream this time. Last few outing I have caught the usual suspects except bream.....one day
I think the boat is an Attack somethingorother and i was fortunate enough to be a deckie for the day. i'm sure the owner appreciates your comments.

Went out with fellow raiders, greg and luke for a flick this morning.
No bream but plenty of flaties. Also picked up a PB trev that fought hard. he went 49cm.
all fish released

BARRA 55 TO 70CM,14 BLUE THREADFIN SALMON,12 SPOTTED MACKEREL PLUS A FEW OTHER MIXED
SPECIES,IT CAME BACK WHITE WITH ALL THE GOLD SCRAPED OFF & IT STILLS SITS IN MY OFFICE
TO REMIND ME HOW GOOD THE FISHING IS UP THERE.I WILL BE GOIN UP THERE AGAIN ALSO BUDDY
EARLY OCTOBER.TAKE A FEW GOOD SIZE METAL SLUGS WITH YOU AS WELL,LAST REPORT I GOT FROM
UP THERE SUGGESTS THE BIG BAIT BALLS OFF WEIPA ARE ON FIRE FOR LONGTAIL TUNA,QUEENFISH,
TREVALLY & VARIOUS MACKEREL SPECIES.ITS A GREAT FISHING SPOT,ENJOY IT & GOODLUCK!

Hi guys, have enjoyed reading your reports but have never really been trout fishing ( visited lake lyall once and half heartedly chucked a lure in for 20 minutes)
Just wondering, with all the weed about do you use weedless hooks if and when you use soft plastics?
Also whats the main lure you use for trout?
