    New Rod

Aries, go a 7ft for size. As for rods, I ended up buying a Wilson live fibre 6-8Kg stick for similar fishing. There is a 4-6Kg model aswell which would also be great for casting at kingies and salmon, very light rod and fast taper. I haven't used the backbone series of rods but have seen them and they do seem abit heavy Anglers world North rocks has a custom job which is also a great rod for this purpose. If interested let me know and I'll PM the details Adam
  6. thanks Ankles, new camera mate just testin it out. my kodak has shot itself, actually I shot it :ohyeh: :ohyeh: :ohyeh: Joe, the canopy is only one piece and does not fold. There are 4 small tubes that are bolted to the front of the console which the 2 posts of the canopy go through again, I'll take a picture Adam

    Nitro Jigheads

Rick, who supplies the TT's. I use a wide variety of Bassmaster, Nitro and Swoffa of course got me onto the Owners. Owners are great but a bit pricey. As for the nitro's I really like the shad head and if correctly put on a minnow looks great with it The collar's are a nuisance, I don't know why they put it on but was told that Nitro will not be taking them off only making them narrower/smaller Adam
  8. does anybody know if the new version of the Nitro jigheads are available. I was told that it would be a stronger hook with a smaller collar to eliminate the splitting of plastics Billfish, Richard ...... any comments, Martin from Taree had mentioned this but couldn't tell me when they would be available Adam
  9. thanks Allen, will keep that in mind Adam
  10. thanks for the comments fellas. They are all correct calculations. I called the boat box company who gave me a different calculation but end results are same I only need about 80-100Ltrs so will work it out accordingly thanks for the replies Joe, I am getting one made up for me by an aluminium fabricator. It will be a seat aswell as a tank for the centre console I have Adam
  11. I have a new live bait tank project on the way soon. Just trying to work out sizes but can't seem to calculate correctly. How do you measure the litres capacity of an object. Is it length x width divide by the height this formula just doesnt seem to match up for the pre made stuff in the shops example 1 box is 570x425x455 which is a 70L and another is 740x480x480 which is a 62L, quite obvious the 2nd box is bigger yet less in litres so, what should 580x500x500 equate to in litres Adam
  12. :welcome: to the site snapperpete. These LF rods seem to be a favourite. I've ordered the rod. Looking forward to playing with it soon thanks for the assistance Adam
  13. not wrong there mate    Ivan I see you've taken some time off work, great stuff mate, we'll catch up soon Adam
  14. that's what I'd like to hear. Thanks Bill Howard, you never let them outfish you mate :fisho: take it off her. These rods are very light and after lure fishing light tacke for over a year now I don't really want to go back to heavy gear so it is a good alternative Now, just need to decide on the reel :punk: Adam
  15. mate, I have watched it but wasn't inspired because of that, they do go on about em don't they Allen, I actually have a Wilson Live Fibre beach rod purchased from Freddy's... where were you 8 months ago , naaaa that outfit is also excellent but I will keep an eye out for dodgey workmanship. I'm getting Anglers world to order one in for me, thanks for the warning Rodd, I have looked at the AVET's, great reels but just a bit pricey for me. I ended up getting the Daiwa Sealine LD50H and now am after a smaller reel Herby, how are you finding the Tekota 500. I can't decide wether to get that or a TR1000 charter special, both at $200 each. Like you I will be using the Live fibre with these reels. I don't want to go too heavy so I was thinking the 6-8Kg, infact I originally wanted the 4-6Kg but with big sinkers it will surely sag Adam
  16. Last week I used a live fibre 4-6Kg rod outside bottom bashing and must say that I really liked the rod. Very light yet very strong. I was thinking of buying the overhead 6-8Kg stick (ZWS65MJ 6-8Kg Overhead) and matching it with a Tekota 500 or the TR1000LD charter special. Any comments at all. Has anybody used and/or recommend Adam
  17. geez Rick, it's too bluddy difficult. I know what you mean, each has a different purpose yet can both be used for the same thing. I would prefer a lever drag option over star drag but Tekota just seems to have that better, more durable feel look about it and as you said I can also cast with it if I ever need to well let's see what others have to say aswell. Andrew, I was thinking this week or next week mate. I will let you know which model I decide for Adam
