  1. ok, time for another reel the purpose of this will be for bottom bashing and a bit of light trolling (if required) but main purpose will purely be for bottom bouncing I can get either one for $200, I know you can get the TR2000LD for $190 but I just don't want that extra width and the 150 gram in weight (just a personal thing) The TR1000's are a full graphite unit whereas the Tekota is aluminium frame, spool and side plate unit, and ofcourse star/lever drag any comments please Adam
  2. try the Nitlon leaders. I have used Siglon and now use the Nitlon. Quality wise they are very similar but the Nitlon is much cheaper than the Siglon my last spool of 20Lb I paid around the $25.00 for a 100mtr spool. Don''t let the price fool you, they are a very good fluro leader and you will find that most of the bream boys here use it Adam
  3. I agree with you Snag, but maybe a different waterway. With Spring upon us now we should slowly start to see more fish in our regular systems Mick that is a top fish mate. pitty him not you . keep at it and like Wacko said maybe give the lighter gear a go Adam

    Penn Reel

mate, I''ve owned a 9500SS and recently purchased a 6500SS purely for pelagic species on bait. The 650SS are a much lighter reel than the 9500SS. They are heavy duty reels and are worth the money you pay I paid close to $180 for my 6500SS. got it from Victor at Anglers world. Give him a call if you like he should also have in stock the Daiwa BG 60/90''s in stock Adam
  7. Bill, why don''t you use Rosebay ramp instead. It''s a quick sprint to the heads Adam
  8. Size for the nets are as follows Environet - 45cm Diameter, 50cm handle other Net - 55cm Diameter, 100cm handle Adam
  9. Rich I''ve got a 475 centre console with a 40Hp at the back. my speed wheel show upto 80kms an hour some times and other times it shows anywhere from 60-70Kms. I have re adjusted but still get the same readings. I think a GPS would be best for me. There is no way I could be doing 70Kms let alone 80Kms per hour Adam
  10. Jethro, I put up an aswer on Sportsfish but the thread was deleted mate, I''m guessing 40-60cm wide with a handle of approx 60cm''s I''ll have to check and get back to you Adam
  11. Sami, I''ve got 4 PM''s from you but can''t read any of them pls re send Adam
  12. Bill, tunks park must be one of the best ramps around. It is actually a 3 lane ramp. Initially was a 2 but has been upgraded to a 3 lane. Just be carefull with the 3rd lane as they haven''t poured concrete all the way back as it should have so there is a ditch. Try and use the 1st (next to pontoon) and the middle There are no parking gates/fees and ample parking in winter but in Summer it can be a pain as you may need to park on the main streets. there is also a fish cleaning facility. Adam

  14. confused a bit fellas, exaust fumes killed em or not them out temporarily
  15. thanks fellas, I''ll keep that in mind. what a waste of resources. I reckon there is an excellent opportunity for selling tackle on-line. If they are more active they should be able to sell good volumes of stock yet they don''t seem to further advance. They just setup the initial layout and infrastructure but don''t make any changes to the sites. anyway that''s just a thought Adam
  16. just after some infor regarding this website. Anybody had experience with them Adam
  17. thanks Allen, now I understand Adam
  18. allen, thanks for the comments. Just a bit confused. I thought the LD50H was also graphite and what do you mean by single plated. would you not recommend the LD50H as a trolling option. As for the TLD25 you say that it is a true trolling reel but you would not recommend for sambos, kingies etc.. (is it an overkill). I know Bashir uses his TLD25/50''s for chasing the likes of marlin, tuna etc.. Adam
  19. mate, I''ll consider them aswell. I have sent you a PM interesting about the colour coding. Could you elaborate on that pls Adam
  20. Bashir, The LD50H deffinately has dual drag same as the SLD30 which is a more expensive yet rugged and bigger reel. Adam
  21. looking at a new trolling outfit for Kingies, Salmon, tuna etc... Can''t decide which model to get. I have narrowed it down to the TLD25 or Daiwa Sealine LD50H The Daiwa supposedly has better parts inside and has a 2 drag setting unlike the TLD which only has 1. Any other pros and cons Look forward to hearing from anyone Adam
  22. guys, I had the same issue early this year. I had 2 boats, a 16ft h/cabin for harbour fishing and sleep outs and at the same time built up a small 375 quinnie dart for bream fishing. Gave them both away and ended up buying a Brooker c/c (similar style/layout to MickC''s boat). deeper gunnels, wide beam. It''s great for harbour and a bit of light of shore work and is plenty for breamin (I''m no tournament expert) Having said that an open style bream boat is still the best for PURE breamin as I get annoyed with the console cause it doesnt give you much of a front deck to fish from and when the wind gets out whilst your breamin the deeper gunnels can make it a bit more difficult to manouvre GI Joe, if I can get my camera working again I''ll send some pics of the electric. It''s a bit bodgy looking but does the job. However, I will be changing the position soon to sit closer to the side of the front rails rather than the middle Adam
  23. Fast boat = more fishing time. Can’t argue with that. But, let’s have a look at the stat’s aswell. Yes there are some anglers with the beefed up machines who generally rank in the top 5-10 but correct me if I’m wrong there are other anglers who also achieve good results who fish from other style (probably slower) boats aswell. Call me old fashioned, call me scared but 60-80mph is ridiculously fast and dangerous. Day 2 at the Manning I fished with Martin R who is a local from the area. This fella sure knows the area and equipped with his 385 Bermuda fitted with a worked 40Hp/60Hp Merc we were skidding, jumping and doing everything possible on water. No lie this baby was flying. At one stage we were gliding in 2-3 ft of water around old Bar and I was shitting myself. That weekend I was pretty crook but when fishing with Martin I was all ok that day and I put it to the fact that I was more worried about surviving the ride than anything else. I was positioned right in front of the c/c and if we did hit anything I would be the first to fly off then Martin as he was located below me behind the console. Anyway as Chopper has said it wasn’t long ago when all the Hornets were the flavour but now everyone seems to be talking about these new style of boats. As for putting a limit on the max HP, I can’t see that happening as majority would over rule That’s my 2 bobs worth Adam
