  6. That will do me for fishing out of a trailer boat! I think rob trussel is lined up for the next trip. We tried to keep him off the cans as long as we could! We gave in at around 8am.
  7. Fished the botany tournament on the weekend with captain pithchy (cod king). We had a plan during the week of heading to the bait station and hopefully find some bait,we found the bait 6 mile short of the station and loaded up with around 20 slimies.Sent down 1 into the school with no takers so we started skipping the not so healthy ones. After around 2 minutes we had raised the first fish which was quickly switched to a livey and we were on! We got the fish to boat and was tagged the rest of the day was spent rigging baits and with double hook ups and free swimming marlin around the boat we tagged another 3 and set off for home.Day two was little more quite, the bait just disappered but we managed to find and tag a short billed spearfish So a big thankx to bbgfc for a great weekend!
  8. Maybe water pressure got the line? The more line you have out the more pressure you have on the line.In those sort of situations the best thing to do is back the drag off to free spool and thumb it until you turn the boat and give chase as FAST AS YOU CAN AND WIND!
  9. Got to love the feathered bonito!
  10. There is allways nexy year!
  11. There are alot of smaller fish in close. But the shelf is only 8 mile where there is more of a chance of picking up a sailfish. And the fish were trolled up pakula sprockets.
  12. After getting just 1 day of fishing in the weather turned nasty But the one day we did get in wasn't bad with a 15kg dolphinfish and tagged a 80 kg striped, the other 8 days were spent relaxing with the kids. BY THE WAY WATCH OUT FOR THE WHALES
  13. Pitchys lucky green undies hanging on the 130 in the game chair after a shower and a shave on the back deck seems to work on xo
  14. Giving them plenty of time with an open bail. Might have to get a couple of baitrunners?
  15. The western side up the northern end were it drops of to 9m.
  16. After catching my first river jewie last week at the bridge i thought about giving it another crack last night. Launched the boat at kurnell boat ramp at around 430 and headed off with my 2 boys to find some squid for a couple of hours and only managed 2 small squid better than nothing. Droped the boys off to the wife and headed down to the bridge and anchored up in the same spot as last week. As soon as the sun went down the bites come thick and fast after losing the first 2 after short runs finally nailed 1 of 67cm's another 10 minutes later another at 72cm's had countless runs but to no avail after that so i headed home at 10.30. Do i need bigger hooks? I was using 4/0 bait holders double rig.
  17. Going to work tired is well worth the effort. Daylight savings ruins it though!
  18. I am sure there there will be no shortage of support boats to help out on the day?
