This will be my first trip up to swr. Can't wait Shane is taking his jet ski and has just added 2 rod holders to give the blues a go.

My father in law is down at jervis bay this week and he has only caught a couple of bream out of the river. He went out to the drum and drum sticks today with only 1 60 cm king.

I had my kids out yesterday we were right in front of you down rigging live squid with no takers so there wasn't much there. We were in the grey stessel.

Nice reds warnie Shane and i tried for the reds aswell,current was to strong.

Love to catch them i get a few down at burning palms and as i said before off the groynes in the bay. but i will have to keep on trying till i get it right over the weed beds.

Can you answer a question for me. I see alot blackfish around around the ribbon grass in botany bay i have tried to fish for them with no luck, only when i fish near the groynes i get a few but not around the weed beds where i see them?

Marlon will be starting in the bay soon, when he starts to swim a bit better i will take him outside. have to get a lighter rod and reel for hayden anybody got any ideas?

Sure is warnie going to sign him up soon. If we go to south west rocks this year will try and get him his first marlin with a little help!

[attachmentid=22142=][Finally took my 4 year old son for his first trip outside,was a bit worried about the sea sickness but the sea was flat and the wind wasnt forecast to blow till the afternoon so it was time.On saturday night i gave him the good news that he was going all the way out the heads i should have taken a photo of his face when i told him.Anyway woke hime at 5.30 and with the wife getting his clothes and food ready we were off. We stopped at the heads and had a throw for a squid,first throw a nice squid for bait that should do us.Out the heads we went down to the flathead spot just off the merries. First drop and he was on should have seen his face fishing in 35 meters of water took him a little while but he got his first flathead. For the next 4 hours he caught fish after fish. We ended up with 17 flathead 1 mowong and i was only allowed to bring in 2 and not one JACKET Tell you what i am a proud father :thumbup:ttacahmentid22141]

Going down to burning palms this afternoon till monday arvo.looks like i will have to take some extra long shank hooks. And for fishing ledges in the rnp try getting onto google earth and have a look.

Have never caught any reds at osborne try alittle closer in or find the edge of the reef around the light house.What boat where you in?

Very good fish.

There are some big reds out there at the moment,so i would say they were. Got some squid during the week.But i got the reds on a cuttle fish i found floating on the way out.
