Just brought my boat in for repairs today for the same reason, no matter how hard i tried to free it up it wouldn't budge. The mechanic advised me that it will need to be replaced as the grease has dried up in the cable sheath, my question back is how different is the new cable they will replace it with? Will find out his arvo. (Cable is worth around $200, couple of hours for labour, and they may need to remove the motor!) Not Happy.

Bloody hell, i was told the whole bay was protected by one of the bastards who fined me for having 15 of the tasty buggers in the bag. Now i know, i'll lauch from the other end! I recal my statement to you earlier - Good catch. P

Dude, the actual bag limit for Booderee National Park (JB) is 10 per person per day. They have their own rules! The fines are also pretty steep there, your lucky the authorities didn't catch you out as they are pretty prolific in JB. P

G'Day Guys & Gals Wanting to keep my pride & joy in good nick, is there a professional boat detailer, that can repair minor chips and scrathes in a gel coat boat, and give the whole boat a once over. Cheers mate, the Penn DR comes with an option to mount the rodholder to the casing of the DR. Would this be able to handle the weight and force applied by the fight of a heavy fish?

Looking to purchase a Penn Downrigger, and want to be sure on how its best mounted along with the rod holder position. Is it best positioning the downrigger at 90deg outward from the port/starbord side, 45deg or striaght out of the back? How close does the rod need to be positioned to the downrigger, how are others positioned, post some sample pics. I have a HainesHunter 470 and have no where to mount the downrigger, i will have to use one of the rod holders as the side and back are to narrow to mount anything. Any info or advise will help as i'm busting to get this on and out to gather some kings!!!! Cheers Pete

Felt like quite a lazy Jew, didn't fight much, just came up straight to the boat, no big run or nothing. Must of git him whilst asleep.

Found the spray at BCF at Auburn, The new complex that also holds office works. Unfortunately their out of stock, costs $19.95. The guy said they'll have it in a couple of days.

Took the old man Out today to get in some action with little results. Found it difficult to gather some bait, chased a school of tailor with no hookups, so settled in amongst the yachts at the Spit to relax, when, the calcutta screemed off with a whole squid attached, pulled in a nice 3kg jew to my dads delight, and boy did it taste great. Also landed a nice snapper to 40cm.

I'm off to Jervis, and taking the boat! Anyone been there lately or heading down that way? Looking for some tips and spots inside and outside.

Top work mate, unlucky in the bust-ups. Mate still struggling to land one of these buggers myself this season, can you let me in on how the yakka was trolled on what rig and speed, depth? I have the same luck with catching squid, zip but always catch plenty of yakkas. Would love to see these in good use.

These bait tanks are tops, better than those you can but at the tackle shop. Love to make one myself, but wouldn't know how to get the plumbing right. Is there a guide on how to make a tank that works! (Inlet, outlet, pumps and airaters) Got the perfect container, just dont know what to buy to make it work? Top Kingie, Looks like i have to invest in a down-rigger. Could you quickly explain the rig, depth and speed you troll livies at, is it close to the bottom or mid water? Jealous.

So i guess, its true to an extent, but exagerated by those who dont catch any at all and blame the Dolphins for giving them bad luck.
