  1. Ditto with KiwiDan above - make sure you do two because one will be devoured straight out of the smoker - delicious! One of our favourites is smoked tailor the flesh is suited to a 25 minute 'hot smoke'. The kids love it Try it out Gary!! Cheers Andy
  2. Nice mods to the boat mate - Pimped is right alright! electric reel power points are a good idea as is the screen in the bow. The radar is very james bond!
  3. I turned 30 today too mate - dont worry - everyone is telling me its the new 20.... Happy Birthday anyway buddy!!!! Andy
  4. Penguin - congrats on an exceptional capture - what a fish!!! For me its all about the family enjoying the feast so thanks for putting the last few shots up Cheers Andy
  5. Well done Slinky Junior!!!! I have a feeling we are going to see many more captures from the Slinkys in the coming weeks/months/years!!!
  6. That is an awesome fish for the little bloke!! It's as big as him!! Congrats and what a way to spend the day hey. I agree Jewgaffer - that pic is an awesome shot!! Andy
  7. How about a safety at sea course - like an advanced boating course? I know of one being run out of Port Stephens.. This is not so much about general boating as blue water boating and safety.
  8. Mate thats a beautiful rig! Good to see the dollies getting a bit bigger!
  9. Was this taken on Sunday? We left Coal and Candle at 6am in the dark/fog and it really is zero visibility. Plenty of breamers out fishing the rock walls with their nav/anchor lights on - guys can I just say the lights really dont help in a fog like that. They become visible at the same time as the hull of the boat. I know there is not much else you can do but dont feel safe drifting a channel just because you have an all round white light on. When we hit Flint and Steel a tunnel of light opened up under the fog with the rising sun and once at Barrenjoey we were in the clear. Sure can feel like Jurassic Park in the Hawkesbury at times. We head out under guidance of Radar and often end up with a convoy following us out to Flint and Steel/Pittwater :-)
  10. All the best Byron - speedy recovery mate and I hope surgery goes well. Cheers Andy
  11. I think they have a run of Marlin coming up??? Blues??? coral trout and west aussy crayfish mmmm shot you a PM. Andy
  12. Mate we were out there on Sunday with plenty of undersize dollies about - as the other raiders have said the current was raging but water looked good.. We trolled around both Broken Bay and Terrigal for small dollies.. BB FAD is ~22km out from lion island so just depends on conditions as to how long it takes
  13. Mate its a big hike around to a, b and c from the carpark (bottom left in your pic) with fishing gear. Some really nice spots all around that headland though. GOod luck its a great spot.
  14. I hit Terrigal and Broken Bay FADs on Sunday - lots of small dollies and we lost a nice fish just off the broken bay fad... water was pretty good out wide.
  15. That's gold! Congrats on an awesome fish and to the guys for a mission accomplished!! What a way to celebrate the 13th birthday - never to be forgotten! I think I went bowling for mine... not much of a contest! Andy
  16. Havent been out for over a month now due to work, weather, illness and family drama! Desperate to get out there this weekend and thinking of making the run to Broken Bay FAD or possibly Terrigal FAD to see if there are any Dollies around - has anyone fished them in recent week or so?
  17. Haha Slink - reckon we wouldn't have been doing much more than 8 knots when we went down to Browns from Broken Bay in that North Easterly. I think it was about 65km from Barrenjoey to Browns which is about 36nm?? Apologies if conversion is off. Its a long way anyway... further than Norah Canyons which is about 50km NE of Barrenjoey or 28nm. In these NE's possibly a better run would be to head to Norah in the morning then run back with the NE behind you in the afternoon. That is what I am thinking of doing this weekend or next..
