  1. Dogtooth Its nearly full already i will post photos when full. It wont be long with all this bad weather. As the only thing to do is head for the tackle shop and buy more gear for when the weather gets better. We as fishos are very lucky because the only real store we want to visit is always open on sundays. THE TACKLE STORE So with this in mind we all know where i am heading tomorrow. cheers bob
  2. Arman It has been much the same for me. Except i bit he bullet and moved back to daddys. But now i am finding that daddy is starting to have a bit of a winge. He can not under stand that when the weather is no good i go to the tackle shop to get my weekly fix. And as most of us fishos know there is not many trips to the tackle shop where we walk out empty handed. cheers bob
  3. Roberta Im with you on number 4 as i seem to do this quite offten. cheers bob Sponot BLOODY BOLTS IN FOR THE ROD LOCK I thought this was something that i just did so i am glad to find out its not. Its just sad that you had to go through the pain to make me feel better cheers bob
  4. Nanook Cool photos. Where you there long. This is one part of the world I would like to visit. The fishing looks tough but at least you dont have to take the esky to keep the beer and fish cold. Cheers Bob
  5. G'day Raiders Sitting here with not much doing. So have taken pics of some tackle old and new. Here is the old And here is the new a pair of all alloy down riggers . Cheers bob
  6. wilcara I have a set of reelax outriggers and i must admit i have never used them for game But they make a great black fish pole in the off season cheers bob
  7. I think the only toy to own and use is a diawa marine power 3000 on a custom built 37kg loaded with 120lb braid. This will stop a mac truck. cheers bob
  8. Ant Please do not get me wrong. My opinion is not based on merit as i am an owner of okuma gear in the lower classes 10 to 15 and i will say that they spend more time at home than in the boat. I will take my trusty charter special before the okuma's cheers bob
  9. Ant All the best with your choice , but the first thing i would like you to think of when you lose that once in a life time fish ( yft ) is the word stella stella stella and all of us that gave you our advice The good thing about a life time warranty is it fixes the reel but will never fix that lost fish. So to sum it up you will get the reel fixed but will you ever trust it again. so is it realy a life time. regards bob
  10. If i am right it is the same as i think navman has changed it's name to northstar. I am sure i read this somewhere. cheers bob
  11. Ant The way you should be thinking is, if you do get a that once in a life time fin and the gear does not stand up to it for the sake of a few bucks how are you going to feel. Go the stella cheers bob
  12. Hi all raiders I'm looking for a deckie to go for a run in the new tinny I am thinking of a tuna run and a bottom bash at browns if the weather holds on saterday. so what i need is someone who can drive a boat or car with trailer and willing to bring own gear pefered and bring the pillies. I do have spare gear if realy needed cheers bob pm or call 0422009685
  13. taking the new tinnie out saterday and hopefully the social sunday. Are the botany fads out and if so where: bob
  14. Luke No The full pipe was just to show you what it looked like before the cut. To hold the two halfs together just use a hose clamp from supercheap. Here is just another handy hint, mould a pice of al foil onto the end to shut of any leaks if your cut is a bit off and once you have moulded this foil you can use it over and over again the same as the hose clamps and pipe Cheers bob
  15. Fisherboy Not sure on which one you are asking about but the reel is about 6.kg and lure is about 1kg cheers bob
  16. Now come on this is just getting out of hand i'am even more jealous All i can say is i your life style cheers bob
  17. Le pasha Diawa marine power 3000 cheers bob
  18. Hi there Cindy The views are great and your right about the gods garden bit. But the best of all is the feed of crays and cold beers. I'am so jealous cheers bob
  19. Hi raiders I have been so busy with fixing up the new boat that I have not had time to get it in the water for a spin. And with having to return to work on Monday I thought I would treat myself to some new gear so off to the tackle shop I head. I arrive at the tackle with no idea of what I wanted to buy so just bought a few things in preparation for the up and coming marlin season. So now with the purchases complete I thought I would share them with you all Cheers Bob
  20. Byron enjoy reading your post. It was a better choice than the paper over breakie. cheers bob
  21. Luke As promised I have now added the picture's for my Browns Mountain sinker moulds. These are the moulds and sinkers that i am making today. You will find that making the moulds is not hard and are far cheaper than buying them. The water pipe that i have used properly cost $2 so if you can use a hacksaw and have someone who can weld you will save heaps by making them yourself and there is no limit to what weight you want. So with your new lee pro 20 smelter you should have no problems making sinkers from 0 to 3 kg at 1/3 their cost Cheers Bob P/s always take care when melting lead and the sinkers in the photo weigh 3kg
  22. Flatty hunter626 You’re a better man than me as I would not have the patient to take on such a task. But good onya and you will properly catch just as many fish as the rest of us. And there is one thing that you should remember every time you launch it and that is beauty is in the eye of the beholder Cheers Bob
  23. Cam The reason's i went to aluminum is they only make the crusher in alloy. 2 This material suit's my way of life (low maintenance). 3 A little lighter to tow as a boat of the same size in glass would have also meant a car upgrade which was not in the budget. 4 I do believe that the chances of winning the lotto. Is slim or next to nothing, so the berty on a mooring in a marina is properly out of the question. So all I should have to do with this one is a new donk every now and then and I will always have a good safe reliable boat at 1/3 its total replacement cost. Summary: Glass is a lot more maintenance and as I have had glass boats before I know first hand how a small chip in the bottom of the boat that goes unrecognized for a period of time can cost big dollars to repair and when repaired leaves you a bit less confident in the boat Cheers Bob
  24. Ross It is close the last one was a 100 this one is a 150 cheers bob
