  6. Royboy The best thing to do is scale it then take the sides off it.Vac seal it and then put it in the freezer. The next time you head out to do some flattie fishing take it with you as this is top bait i use it all the time. Cheers Bob

  8. Matt If you had of asked this question some months ago i would have said the stella but i would now say the saltiga. I believe there is only two ways to explain the stella and they are a spare sinker and something you leave in the toilet after a number two. I have both a 20000 stella and a 6500 saltiga and after just completeing 97 days of fishing the stella will spend most of it's time left at home with the rest of the rods and reels. Cheers Bob P\S Go diawa

  17. 5star I dont do much land base but i only every use one type of rig on the boat which i do believe could be used on land base fishing. The rig came ito pratice when i lost 17 rigs in one day from what i call the (australian pirhana) leather jackets. My rig was made so that i was still able to target the fish i was after. The rig starts with a lenght of 60lb nylon coated wire approx half the lenght of the rod. I use a swivle to attached to the main line, at the other end i use another swivle. I use a piece of mono (your choice of breaking strain ) to attach the sinker but before you attach the sinker put some of the green coil stuff that game fishos use to protect the line. To attach the hook use a penn 1.6 crimp swivle. This should be crimped on the wire no more that half way up the wire. From this swivle you can attach the hook with either more wire or mono. If the jackets are that bad and you want a feed of them then use wire to the hook but if you want to still try for ather table fish that maybe shy of the wire use mono this way if the jackets are there you only lose the hook. I have been using this type for some time now and even when the jackets are thick i would get three to four full days out of one rig before it was that tiwsted i had too replace it . And the only bit that had to be replaced was from the penn crimp swivle to the hook. The reason for the mono to the sinker is so you have a breakaway just in case you sinker gets stuck. The reason for the lenght of wire and the swivle no higher than half way is so when you retrive your line you have enough wire to grab and not the line. This also helps when you get those bits of bait that run up the line. I believe that in most bite of any where beyond the hook is cause by bits of scrap bait and cent form touching the line. I have put a photo on of the leather jacket that was caugh on one of my rigs while every one else was being bitten off. You just cant convince some people on the all wire or main wire mono hook. If you need better photo let me know Cheers Bob
  18. Wannafish & Jonno86 Beach fishing should not be that labour intensence. So i am going to let you in on a secret. Go down to the mower shop in campbelltown and but a 1/3rd scale ocean racing boat (remote control )fitted with a small whipper snipper motor. Take it home and add a small pice of up right rod to it and attach a peg to this. Get a spare servo to opperate the peg. Take the boat, rod, rood holder and chair down to the beach. Now place rod holder in sand then place rod in holder with bale arm open. Hook line onto the peg, put boat in water and drive out as far as you want. Then operate servo to let line out of peg flick bale arm over and continue to play with boat while sitting in chair. Hope this helps Cheers Bob
  19. Dicko To let the big secret out i am 127. I took the boat over to seriouslystainless today.Gary and I had a long talk about the options. ( very nice chap ) Gary is doing some quote for me as we managed to settle on a one hundred litre tank. I know that this leaves me 27 litres lighter on the front but i might go on a diet again. If that dont work i will move the out let high. So when tank complete and installed i will post photos Cheers Bob
