  1. Nothing worse than having to leave the fish when they are on the bite. I have never fished the George's where do you launch from ?
  2. The yak I went with is called a serria angler I got it for $360 from a bloke in minto. I now wish I had gotten somthing a bit longer and a bit quicker, but it gets me out there and I'm catching fish.... I got a 40cm Taylor with a z-man paddle tail on the troll just out from the flats at Greys point it was good fun. Hoping to get out to the oyster racks in woolooware bay to chase some bream next.
  3. Ripper hall mate can't wait to get out there myself
  4. Hey guys after weeks of uming and arring I finnaly narrowed my search down to 3 in my area so I went out and Sussed all three out and by 3pm I had just enough time to get out for a quick paddle before It was time to pick up the mrs. I put in at the Greys point boat ramp and headded to the far bank for a quick throw after a cast in each direction I decided to to take my new yak for a paddle and to change my jig head to somthing a bit heavier so when I trolled it , it would be down in any fishes face. After headding 400m up stream i was starting to run out of time so I rounded a channel marker and started to head back. I got a hit and it pulled the rod from the holder and straight into my hand. But when I striked nothing..... So I continued back to the car and just when I turned towards the beach next to the ramp and bang I was on he took it and ran after a short fight I had him along side and I was wishing I had a net of some kind but I jus placed my hand under him and he just sat there calm as can be so i put him in and he was kicking like crazy. He was a 45cm flathead. Got to the station just in time to pick the mrs up. And I'll be headding out bright and early tomorrow morning. Tight lines

  6. Good catch mate.... Hey quick question iv been catching a few whiting of late on nippers in the upper reaches of the hacking, gutted and cleaned on the spot and cooked that night and the fish has a metallic taste do you get this get this ever or am I doing somthing wrong?
  7. hey guys, Ive been flicking lures around for the last 6months and I'm hooked.... but I've been getting out a fair bit lately and coming up with nothing but big fat 0's. at times i can see the fish so i use different lures, different colours, different retrieves and get nothing. what i am after is where do you go in the area using what tactics to get results. My usual spots are lilli pill, gunnamutta bay, and greys point. If you can help with these locations/tides/times of day/ tactics I would be very appreciative. I'm based out of cronulla so any spots within 30mins I will give a shot. I'm chasing your bread and butter species but will target anything in the area. I'm land bassed cheers,
  8. hey mate, I agree with the above but still use them when using steel bar lures I haven't found that it affects them ( i usually switch size's and colours) i have had alot of luck with these in port hacking near lilly pilly getting taylor and frigate mack FYI cheers,
  9. Yeh mate especially when all that you are thinking about is where you want to cast next then...... BAM..... cheers guys thought it would of been a ray of some sort. enjoy
  10. Hey guys, The other day I was walking out in some shallows to throw a few lures around when around 5m from shore and 40cm deep i stood on something that sent an electric shock up my leg and i could feel it move but no visual on what it was because i was doing my best jesus impersonation (walking on water)..... any idea what it was? never going bare foot again enjoy
  11. JEALOUS!!!!! man Ive been trying for one of those off the rocks but i think I'm gonna be trying some new tactics now... good work mate.
  12. hey mate, I fish wanda fairly regularly (depending on conditions) and have a few mate thats do so also between us we always come away with a feed. depending on the day you go you can find very deep gutters in close that hold alot of fish, I have pulled in 50 cm flaties 2m from the shore ( could see my leader coming out of the water) mates have pulled nice hauls of taylor, brim, flaties and dart. I usually use pillys on a triple 4/0 gang hook and/or prawns on a 1/0 long shank. but the same as you Im kinda looking for something a bit bigger and have moved to the rocks to get into the deeper water. I'm finding that the best time is 2hrs either side of sunlight up/down. I am thinking of moving to bigger soft plastics in the surf as i have had a bit of luck of late in the estuaries ... wonder if this will work?
  13. Yeh mate think i had that happen once or twice all in the name of good fun....
  14. Hey guys n gals, Iv been on here for a while and get alot out of the reports so i thought it was time to put my two cents in. Decided to go down to some sand flats near my place yesterday afternoon on the run out tide and flick a few lures around, a bloke on a paddle board came past and said he seen a few taylor busting up the surface, I moved my way along the edge and for the first 5 casts I had 100% hook up rate every time landing an under- sized taylor smallest being 25cm and biggest 29cm. I later changed to steel to get some more weight in my casts as the wind had picked up and i was hoping for something a bit bigger with no prevail. I was using gulp plastics and 2in steel bar lures and the soft plastics seem to have better retention as the taylor would sometimes jump and shake out the treble. end score 15 in 60mins all undersize, all went back. having a bit of trouble uploading pics once i get it sorted ill post some. cheers enjoy
