  7. G'day Raiders! After a string of 12 hour shifts was getting fed up with no fishing time so decided to stop off at Rozelle Bay on the way home. With high at 730 figured I'd catch the last of the run in and first of out before getting too dark. Been working on my SP fishing for the last few months..and as a result hadn't even seen a bream since swapping from bait as flatties were generally all that came in (not complaining too much love the crocs) But have been trying to crack bream on SPs and finally did!! Started flicking along the rockwall for zip with a really strong cross wind. 1/12 tt head with 65mm squidgy wriggler blood worm on my 6 and 6 lb 1-3kg setup eventually snagged this little fella! That in itself not really worth a report even though I was ecstatic But it got better! Nothin for a while eventually was going to pack it in as it got dark but a few more casts letting the sp drop on a tighter line and this beautiful 20ish model went for a nice run! Now I was really over the moon! And it got better still! Another few flicks and thump! Zzzzz! How I have missed a decent bream! Chased the sucker down the rock wall and eventually lifted up a beautiful 30ish model! Gonna have to change my new years resolution to upgrading from these sorry for the dismal pics phone wasn't charged enough for flash Thanks to all the Raiders who share their knowledge Have a great new years everyone I know I will! Cheers Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk

  12. G'day Raiders! Hope you're all having a wonderful chrissy day! Currently enjoying a post-ham food coma so figured I'd put up yesterday's exploits. Got off work early in hunters hill as I managed to fall down the gap between two houses and knacker my shoulder yet again...so I did what anyone would...went to Iron Cove for a quick flick before Christmas eve foodnbooze fest began! (Thank god I can cast with both hands or the whole day would be ruined ) Hadn't fished the cove before (rodd park) so walked around checking the mangroves/sand/jetty as the tide was a bit lower for structure. Found a few nice weed beds / theres some great sand flats there so figured I'd go for the standard flatty/bream sp sesh. Ended up heading over to the aquatic club wharf to target bream against the pylons (still yet to crack a bream on sps finnicky little buggers), ended up with the first little flatty below, gill raked me and swam off. Damn those things sting! Using my little outfit 1-3 stick with 1000 sienna 6 and 6 leader and braid lb. Strike another one up for the good old zmann grubz in motor oil. Then had some friendly japanese tourists come up to me, brand new beach rods and 7000 reel combo's in hand and ask me how to fish. Happily helped them set up and taught them how to cast. Hope they got something though the outfits were wayyyyy over the top for the situation. My dreams of stalking bream on the wharf were shattered however as they set up right on it jumping around. But hey they looked like they were having a great time so good luck to em! Tide had just peaked and started its run out so headed over the the flats for a flatty flick. 1/16 or 1/12 headlockz with another zmann managed to wrangle the second flatty which went 40cm and a pb on plastics, so much fun on light gear / getting the hang of em on SPs! Gill raked me some more and swam home. Packed up after that and headed home for a lovely bbq with the fam. Great chrissy eve minus the shoulder and knee injuries! Have a great festive season guys, stay safe and enjoy! Cheers Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk
  13. Awesome work by marine rescue great guys. Donated to them this year so they can keep up the great work have a think about it if you're in a charitable mood (I know there are so many worthy causes). A particular tackle shop many of us might frequent also offers to tack on a few bucks to your purchase to give to them if you happen to be shopping for more kit. These guys are fantastic as seen from the above report! Cheers Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk
  14. Definitely global warming Steve I'm going to put that on my wall! Cheers Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk
  15. T.C. You're a wealth of knowldge as usual thanks for the adivce! Yup definitely know what you're saying bout ripping the blade to feel it vibe, moved away from that! For my estuary work I usually go 8lb when hitting the bottom for lizards, 6lb for my bream work/light flicking. 12 would be my highest and that would be targetting large specimens. Experience is definitely king! Have the glorrrious opportunity of most of the week off work so heading out almost every day for a quick flick! This arvo too I hope! Thanks mate Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk
  16. Awesome work! Congrats what a fish! Cheers Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk

  19. G'day Raiders! Was going to save all my reports for a massive photo dump when I get my phone repaired (salt water. Good for fish not phones) but figured I'd put up this arvos efforts. Headed down to Rozelle bay yesterday arvo and today for the runout, mainly just to scope the place out and get some thinkin time but today's session went pretty well! Got there about 4:30 and tied on a squidgy wriggler 85mm bloodworm on a 1/8th tt head and flicked along the rock wall for a bit, 2nd cast scored a little flatty! Kept going with it and hit a little tailor as well! Not massive or remarkable fish but really just starting out on sps and lures. Lost a blade or two the day before so was hesistant to lose more kit in an unfamiliar place! Only had my 3-5kg broomstick with 10lb braid and 8lb fluro leader as I buggered up respooling my little flick rod Would love to use blades more, simple lift and drop the way to go? Anyway more of my recent reports to come with some cool rockfishing species and some SP trips Cheers Raiders thanks for reading! Witha Sent from my GT-I9100T using Tapatalk
