  1. Thanks Ed, it was nice to have something pulling on the line. Good size flatty for you Ginko. I bet the family was happy.
  2. Headed out from Pretty Beach at around sunrise Friday and headed over to Berrenjoey lighthouse and fished for squid. I kept getting them hooked but could not for the life of me land the buggers. Ended up catching a small banjo shark around a metre long. No picture due to the crap phone I had. Bought myself a new samsung S4 yesterday. Headed over to a few other locations but only had bites and small stuff. The wind picked up at around 11 so I headed home. Better luck next time!! Still had a great day out there. Nothing better than being on the water early in the morning. Good luck to all you fishos!!
  3. Looks like a top day fishing there mate! Good luck to you!!
  4. My wife doesn't mind me going fishing at all. She likes me having a hobby. I suppose I am pretty lucky. It would be nice to come home with more fish though. You tend to feel like a loser when the missus says "how many did you catch today luv" and you hang your head down in shame and say "nothing was biting today". Also, I take her out with me sometimes but not out of the estuary as she gets nervous and asks me to slow down and go back. Overall she is happy and I don't have any problems yet. Keep in mind I have only had the boat for just over a month.
  5. Hi everyone, I will be putting my boat in at around 6am on Friday this week at Pretty Beach central coast if anyone is interested. I will be out until just after lunch. Looking at going over to Lyon Island and possibly Barrenjoey Island or wherever the fish are. It would be great if an experienced veteran angler wanted to share some of their expertise with me as I am fairly new to boating and fishing out on the water. I have fished for a while on the rocks, wharves and beaches but going in the boat is quite different. Inbox me if you are interested and I will give you my mobile number.
  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone!! Much appreciated!! At my age you would think I would know more about fishing but sadly I am still pretty much a novice. Luckily I enjoy being on the water even if I am not catching fish. I didn't go out this weekend as it was quite windy and I ended up catching up on some work around the house that I have let go since I got the boat. It was hard to stay home cause I have the fishing/boating bug now. I will be going out this weekend with family and hopefully on Friday as well. What are your thoughts on soft plastics or do you think I should stick to the basics first. I definitely will be getting a burley bucket as I have been given this advice a few times now. Good luck to everyone!! I will let you know how I go this weekend!! Greg
  7. Hi guys, I am fairly new to boating and have only recently started fishing from my boat. Before I got the boat I have fished off avoca, the entrance and swansea. I love being on the water but I am having trouble catching anything. I would appreciate any tips from a veteran angler The last 3 times I have been out around ettalong, lobster and out as far as box head, I have ended up coming home with nothing.I have fished sunrise, sunset, low and high tides with a mix of baits including frozen prawns, mullet and squid. Also, freshly pumped nippers. By the way, good luck to all those that enjoy fishing and boating.
