Oh I just saw on ebay some electronic fish bite alarms that hooks to the fishing line. Could be better the the ones on the rod only
-
Found these interesting ones
Need something like that that produces sound when the reel is rotating.
Maybe a laser based device that detect movement on the reel surface.
Also a theory: when using a bell if you mount the bell lower on the rod would it prevent false alert?

I saw plenty of weeds on Maroubra rock pool.

I realised some people here don't have beach fishing outfits and might want to try, so just wanted to give that opportunity to whom want to grab it.
Went to Narrabeen yesterday and today. Caught only one Whiting yesterday. But a kid who was spearfishing caught a 45+cm one and reported a near 1m flathead. It was at North Narrabeen.

Wind was ok down there.
You're most welcome mate. Lets meet up.

Very quiet. The swell is too small

The tide is still low. Hoping the running up will be good

Hi
I'm heading to Bondi Beach taking my chance for sambos or tailors. If anyone is free then join me. Look for an asian guy with an Alvey combo and a spinning one. If you don't have beach gear you can borrow my second combo.
Will be there at about 8pm

Thanks guys for all the advice. Will try to keep that in mind for a next rock session.
Really excited to idea of experiencing a luderick hookup.

My point is not exactly to know if they are too tight or not, although the title of the forums might mislead, what I want to find out is if they to stretch out like leather shoes. Cuz if they do stretch out after several use then I will keep them like I do with normal shoes when a bit tight.
-
I should have chosen the size above as you said.
The shoes are tight but not too uncomfy but I think staying hours with them in is another story.
Waiting for the seller to reply

To most of your questions the answer would be no. I'm a beginner and only starting to get interested in blackfish. Currently the only additional piece of gear I can buy is a pair of rock fishing boots, for the rest I'd like to use what I currently have, adding a couple of float is not an issue though. Gear wise, the closest I have to suit this are a 11ft rod with a size 8000 surf spinning reel and a 13ft Alvey combo.
I don't usually choose the location I just go to what ever locations are closest to me: from curl curl to narrabeen. Sometimes to Maroubra or down to Cronulla.

Hmmm I'll check on the return then
Thanks

Hi all
Need your experience on rock fishing boots. I received my order for a rock fishing spike boots. It's made of Neoprene with rubber sole.
I usually wear size 39 european size which is size 6 here. So I ordered their size XS (6) and when tried them on they feel a bit tight and my toes are a bit crushed and I feel a bit of pressure against the front of the shoes. Are they too toght or is it normal and they will stretch after several use?
Thanks

Krause, for movement you can add a longer dropper line from the main.
I agree for the float experience. A float is an extra accessory to buy and to loose. So sometimes I can be in a period where I've lost all my floats and want an alternative solution
-
I just realized your last point today. Some places have so much snags that bottom fishing would be a nightmare.
-
Wanna try different methods. If it works and i can forget about bring floats then even better.

Hi all
My name is Huy and I'm 35. I work as a web developer in Artamon and live there too.
I'm a Laos born vietnamese, grew up in New Caledonia where I lived for 16 years. Then spent 10 years in France, 6 in the UK and just over a year in Oz.
I used to fish jetties when being a teen but stopped since France and rediscovered it in Australia recently. Got hooked to surf fishing and trying to go as much as I can either at night or early morning before work.
I have improved a lot but still a newbie.
My next targetted species: luderick and kingfish

Hi
In was wondering if you made a paternoster rig with heavy sinker and a dropper say 2 meters up then it should also work using weed as bait? The bait will be kept of the bottom.
Any one tried this before?

Was fishing in the rain in curl curl, nice gutter but no bite. Maybe too big swell or strong current... The rain might come again tonight or tomorrow

Cheers, will keep this in mind

Hey, I got him on frozen pilchard on two size 3/0 ganged hooks.

The original idea is not to trigger the fish bite alarm by the rod's movement because you can get false alert too frequently, whereas the reel's spool's rotation is more accurate.
