    Nothing...

we were on the bay too. i think you trolled past us at Mol point once. My boat is the poo coloured one with the fishraider stickers on the side. We tried north head, south head and mol point with a live lollipop squid and tiny yakkas for nothing. I even cast an unweight squid strip in the berley trail for not even a nibble on the strip. it was one of those days when everything else went to plan except the fish. dont think the green frog charter boat got any either. back at the ramp at 1030, just before the jet ski brigade. At least that went to plan.
  3. I thought it was just me not catching legal kings. I am yet to hit a legal king this season and have lost a couple of thumpers due to too shallow waters. I am beginning to wonder why I bother getting up at 4am anymore. Hope we all get some luck soon. Simon
  4. Nice work mate! Looks like you were reeling in a horse on the video clips! Awesome stuff.
  5. Hi all, I am looking to buy a new trailer. Just wanted to know what should I be looking to have for a new trailer? its a 14-15 ft fibreglass boat, should I be choosing one with predominantly the side rollers and none of the rollers down the middle (sorry not very techinical with my boat). just some basics specs I should include in my search, also what is the rough price of a new trailer and some possible dealers, I live at Liverpool so Huett marine could be a little far for me to tow a near dead trailer. any advise would be appreciated. thanks Simon
  6. Hello Everyone, Can someone suggest any online tackle stores in USA? I know #$#$#$, any others that would have flat shipping fee and not 40% of item price? Feel free to PM me if this is against site rules. Thanks Simon

  8. Hello Raiders, My first report. This was actually a report from 3 Jan as I have been too lazy to drag the foto off the fone. Hit the water at 5 am and went in search of some squid. My mate Feng (fellow raider) hooks a massive squid 1st cast, at least we have bait now. Ended up with the one squid but caught some yakkas for backup. Fished 3 rods, 2 with yakkas one with squid strips/ half head. Around 830 we landed a nice Kingie that went 73cm on the half eaten squid head. Here's how the action went, the rod buckles over and the reel screaming and the rod is stuck in the holder and I'm trying desparately to lift it out of the holder, after 5 sconds its out and I am thinking its nearing the bottom now and stressed out that I might lose this fight before it even begins. Gradually I gain some line back and slowly pump and wind him to the surface. Great fight on the 30pd gear. Came to the surface 5 times before I could tire him enough to net. Nothing touched the yakka. Swell became unbearable at 1030 and we called it a day. Awesome day. Cheers Simon Pic of Feng with the fishy. I guess you know where we were.
  9. Can someone tell me where Watt's reef is? Is it possible to get under the bare island bridge with a boat? or is it too shallow? I am too scared to find out without asking first. Thanks Simon

try botany bay near the bridges. We have been catching 55cm ones every outing. where u land the squid? I am looking to try a new quieter spot. cheers Simon
  11. Thanks for all your replies and very detailed explanations. I think its case of better safe than sorry when you are on the water. Now I have to figure out how to syphon the fuel out without copping a mouthful of below par petrol. Cheers Simon
  12. Hi all, I am newbie to boating and could not find how petrol goes off. Can some explain please. Also if I have some normal unleaded in the fuel tank ,does that go off? or is it once 2 stroke is mixed that it goes off. My motor has the 2 stroke directly injecting. Can I just top up the petrol with some fresh stuff and it will be ok? Thanks Simon
  13. for pillies, I get the larger ones for bait normally, however usually not as oily. But tend to last a couple of casts, using the 2 hook technique. Good for casting off the rocks under a float. For burley we get the small oily ones. we still use the small ones for bait but must be more gentle. terrible for big casts. if they are getting soft, try to leave them out in the air out of the water, place them individually and they should dry up a bit to put on a hook. Generally we just bring 2 bags of pillies if we intend to stay a while and keep them in an esky.
  14. Give me a fish like that I will retire from work! Awesome kingie, I dont seem to have much luck near the oil wharf, maybe need to give it another crack.
