Fished LM today. Boats everywhere. Caught nothing legal. Headed back to ramp at the channel and noticed a white shape moving in the water. Looked like a massive flatty. I picked it up and turned it over. It had a gash across its head like a prop strike. I should have got a photo with head on.

No never tried near the island. it's on my todo lust. List i mean but same thing i guess.

Spent the weekend at Shoal Bay. Didn't fish as with the family. Helped some kids out on the jetty. They were having a ball catching 15cm yakkas in tthe evening but no one there in the morning at 6am as big bream cruised around the weed and pilons. Come high tide there were sizeable luderick fighting for position to feed in the storm water outlet on the western side of the jetty. About 1m of water and directly next to the jetty. Don't know where weed is though. Sure scratchie can help with that. Some bread and fish berley at dusk had some bigger fish coming past the jetty but i think they were just really big yakkas. Do the maps from fisheries/maritime have the sanctuaries scratchie? Was looking at shark island...

Had the boat out saturday morning from terrigal. Saw about 10 to 15 fishos off the headland near Captain Cook Park. Just wondering what they're after as the casts were very close to the rocks and didn't see any fish come up. Thinking Blackfish but not sure. I managed 2 snapper on fresh yakka strips before the chop made it unpleasant.

I use this site for only a few reasons, the main one being the fishing reports. I hop in hoping to see what fish are on the bite at what location on what bait and what tide. No most of the posts are 'I got up at 4am and grabbed my rods and did some other irrelevant stuff and then went fishing in the ocean somewhere off nsw at some time using bait and I caught some fish'. No useful information at all. They're in the fishing reports section but mostly I see fishing stories. IMO a report should start with date, location and fish biting. Body should include as much detail about time, tide, baits, berley, water depth and location, rigs etc. Photos are irrelevant unless it's of the rig or the location.
