  1. but... inspection is required.... From RMS website: "Most vehicles require an eSafety Check inspection (sometimes called a pink slip) before you can renew the registration. This includes:" ..... " Trailers and caravans up to 2 tonnes gross trailer mass (without breakaway brakes). Note: Trailers that weigh less than 250 kilograms do not require inspection " Now i can tell you right now that the above trailers GVM is > 250kg My single axle braked trailer has a tare of 260kg and you are looking at a dual axle, braked, modified trailer. Look, im not trying to be the fun police here, its just that im not too sure if CTP will cover said person if they have an accident while towing the aobe trailer (they seem to have a way of slithering out of responsibility). Also, not too sure if the the RMS knows of the trailer mods so on their system the trailer might still be under 250kg (it could have been that when the initial trailer was registered before any mods that it fell under 250kg GVM and it didnt require an inspection) in any case, good luck with the refit, im sure it will be a whole heck of a lot safer than what it is now.
  2. How the hell does that pass rego every year???
  3. That is obviously a surgeons tool for removing ingrowns! Winner winner chicken dinner!
  4. everything is edible once in your life........... On a serious note though.. you got yourself a gurnard. I dont mind them but they do have a bit more bones.
  5. They dont get the recognition they deserve (im strictly talking land based from stones or beach particularly), they are not high tech flashy but they get the job done and i cant kill the damn things throwing them around the stones or on the sand.
  6. Thanks for the tip Harry. I have way to many alveys (old and new) and have mostley new type alveys so will give it a shot. Im talking 1 x 700c5 2 x 6500bcvrr 1 x 650a5 1 x 650c5 1 x 55a5 1 x 50 A5E 7 1 x 500a5 1 x 45b im sure i have more.. the list goes on and on.......

    Phobias!

Dentists! I hate them with a passion and i start looking for the nearest exit as im waiting my turn in reception! After neglecting to see one for 5 years i ended up going (due to noticing a teeny weeny bit of pain.....) and he had to pull a tooth! So from then on i learnt, even though i hate dentists, i would hate more to have no teeth by the time im 50.... I begrudgingly visit the dentist twice yearly.. Oh, another one.. i have a phobia of being stuck on a roller coaster upside down for hours while they are trying to fix it.... not sure why i have that idea every time i line up for a ride....
  8. they look the ducks nuts Mrs! i will look into them!
  9. thanks roylo and NaClH2OK9. thanks the info im looking for.
  10. Thanks guys (and mrs), I remember that post, it has some great info regarding safety. im more looking for opinions regarding brands, what brand are people using and what would they recommend). thanks!
  11. I can already feel summer coming along and the sun beating down on scarring my corneas as im fishing throughout the day.... (or am i dreaming with the crap weather we had over the last week?!) In any case.. i like my corneas (and i like having my sight in general!) soooo.... that leads me to my topic! Im after a pair of fishing sunnies and im not really sure where to begin. I know there are brands out the like Mako etc but i value the opinions of raiders over the glossy marketing. Can anyone chime in on a brand that they use and would recommend/ not recommend). Thanks!
  12. I have been studying for the MROCP for a while now (just haven't gotten off my lazy bum and rang an invigilator to book an exam). This new qualification sounds tempting but the 12 mile limit is a deal breaker for me... ill stick to the MROCP! As Swordy mentioned, once in your lifetime and you have all the details rather than messing about hoping you have the info when an emergency comes along.
  13. maybe the qualification is not recognised internationally?? (outside AUS waters)?
  14. I like it! HAve a few alveys myself and i think i will have a go at this!
  15. Corect me if im wrong but looking at this new qualification, you wont be able to go to browns or anything further for that matter and still hold a valid qualification? (AWQ only applies to 12 nm out? according to info sheet)
  16. I bet you 'dont do enough around the house' either Fab1! I get that now and then.. i do the cleaning and cooking and sorting out the house. Your job is easy, just mow lawns and look after garage and if something breaks then fix it! oh and also, when i want something (like new cupboards installed) then you need to do that also! oh and, the door is squeaking again, oh and the tap are getting hard to turn oh and i think the walls need a new coat of paint and id like some new shelving too.... ............ humility is a mans best friend in these circumstances.....
  17. Well done chappo! what a stonker! Also, the pippi and sand question, instead of pming chappo, can we get an answer in this thread, im sure other people would also like to know how its done!
  18. Looks nice with the chevrons laid out. Would like to see the finished product! Im making a custom blackfish rod out of a snyderglas mag bream blank as an experiment just to see how it goes. the once piece will provide great action (i had to opt for the 2 piece for myself for transport reasons )
  19. never heard of an egi snap! time to google...........
  20. Regarding the moorings; you need to go in to SWA a bit more than you would think. (they are on opposite the bay as you take a left at the 4 knot markers on the shore). Basically, its the last bit of deep water before you hit the sand flats going further upstream.
  21. same as you mate on all points. I go outside and use 15lb fluoro leader on braid (helps retrieving jigs when they get jagged in the kelp). Dont have any issues catching em. Sometimes, if im really lazy i will tie the jg on directly to braid on my lighter outfit (6lb) and still catch em. I figure, to a squid that braid looks like prawn antennae
  22. Yeah, that's pretty cool. looks like a cod or a jewie!
  23. thanks again! water temp at 27.5 degrees! was this in a bathtub?!
  24. Thanks for you assistance mate. Buying the navionics gold chart would break the budget at the moment but i can always easily add that on down the line. The touch series does not need the LSS2 module (its built in the touch units) so a hdi transducer will do both (but no side scan). Or just get both transducers and install them separately i guess! Maybe the lack of responses is due to raiders not having hds units, i would have thought that they would have been one of the more popular options.. ..
