  3. Still odd that it seems to work?? Cheers, Fishing Guy
  4. Thanks heaps for the reply, I know about the more space on the mono hull to lie down and stuff but frankly I'd rather not be lying down, but fishing. The other I went out on a mono hull without taking a sea sickness tablet (Offshore) and I could barely reel a fish in I was that weak, but i'm sure my lack of sleep the night before was a contributing factor. Cheers, FishingGuy
  5. Hey Raiders, Not sure if any of you have heard about this but apparently WD-40 is a heaps good fish attractant when sprayed on baits. Was up at Tuggerah Lakes the other day and a bloke there was using this method and managed a good Bream and a Flathead, he also got a massive Mud Crab, and I mean MASSVE!! He said that WD-40 had fish oil in it, so is there any truth in this?? Have you tried it before?? Cheers, FishingGuy
  6. Hey Raiders, Me and my dad are looking into buying a new or used fishing boat. I was just wondering which boat is better (Pics Attached Below). Is the boat with the V shaped front better or the one withe the Arc shape (Sorry Don't Know Names). I'm looking for which boat is more stable on the water and which in your opinion is better for fishing?? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, FishingGuy
  7. Well done on beating your PB mate!! Cheers, FishingGuy

  14. Hey Raiders, Sorry for the late report but here it goes. Hit The Entrance on Saturday to try catch some Bream or Flathead. Tried the usual spot for Squid but got nothing. Headed over to my Flattie spot and setup by 7PM. Some guys were leaving and from what I saw caught a good Flounder. The bite was very quiet up until about 11PM when I started to pack up, when my dad manages to pull out a nice 38cm model. I quickly re-rig my rod and start fishing around some structure. 15 Mins later and my dad is on again, this time a 42cm model. Soon after I manage to hook up but get my rod stuck in some low lying trees and the fish spat the hook. After that we ran out of Prawns so switched over to chopped up pillies. Got one good hit but no hook up. Through in an unweighted pillie and managed a small Bream, he went back to grow bigger. Packed up by 12:15AM due to the southerly. All in all a good days fishing. Cheers, FishingGuy
  15. Definetly Mate, only which wharf are you referring to in North Sydney? Cheers, FishingGuy
  16. Hey Raiders, Heading over to North Sydney tomorrow and will be staying overnight. Hoping to get out to try some squidding. My question is, are there any near by spots which may produce some squid. Willing to walk up to 30 minutes to a spot (From Waverton). Heard that Lavender Bay is good but i'm not exactly sure from where to try, maybe the wharf near Luna Park good?? Any advice is appreciated and thanks in advanced. Cheers, FishingGuy
  17. Yeah, no worries, always thought that was the case. Cheers, FishingGuy
  18. Hahahaha, but aren't you allowed a prawn scoop net in the Hacking?? Cheers, FishingGuy
  19. Hey Raiders, Just a short report but managed to get out to Lilli Pilli landbased. Not much fish, actually not a bite all night. The rainy weather didn't make it much better. But there were some massive prawns around, can anyone explain this because I never thought there would be prawns this big in the Hacking, easily 15cm long. Cheers, FishingGuy
  20. Hey Raiders, Planning on fishing Jibbon Head landbased soon. What can I expect to catch here and what baits should I use?? Also how safe is it? Any info appreciated. Thanks in advanced. Cheers, FishingGuy
  21. How do you vote?? Cheers, FishingGuy
  22. What if they are dead in the bucket?? Cheers, FishingGuy
  23. Hey Raiders, As you all know the taking of undersized fish is a major problem. My grandma lives in North Sydney so i'm regularly down in the harbour on my bike riding around with friends. I also do photography as a hobby so I usually have some sort of camera on me. My question to you guys is, if I see someone who has clearly undersized fish in their bucket, do I have a right to film or photograph the fish? I am aware that you should never approach someone who may turn violent, as a Volunteer Ambulance Officer, safety is always first. I am just sick of seeing people taking undersized fish and i'm sure you guys all are to. From now on I will try and record number plates, and any other details of the illegal activities. Cheers, FishingGuy
  24. Hey yckhor, Welcome to the site. I sometimes fish under the northern side of the Harbour Bridge and although I don't usually catch anything of size, I don't believe there are any restrictions. Not sure about the southern side under the bridge. If you plan on fishing the Harbour Bridge area, on the South West side you have the piers in Walsh Bay, a short walk away. I'm not sure what pier you can fish, but I think it's the one with the floating ferry wharf. From here you can catch Kingfish, Bream and Squid. On the North East side, there is Jeffery Street Wharf where I have caught Bream, Jewfish, Kingfish, Squid and the occasional Blue Swimmer Crab. Just be aware of the ferries which pass through there during the day, so I recommend fishing it during the night or early morning, but if you do decide to fish it during the day be very vigilant for ferries and pull your line in when they approach. On the North West side of the bridge the wharf near Luna Park can hold Arrow Head Squid during the night. Hope this information helps and I wish you luck in your fishing adventures. Cheers, FishingGuy
  25. Great work mate!! Cheers, FishingGuy
