  6. Hey Sydney_fisho, I believe that most of the oyster leases in Botany Bay are down around Towra Point and Woolware Bay. I'm not sure of specific locations but from what i'm told, they are located in this general area. When I drive along Captain Cook Drive there is some sort of fresh oyster business there which backs onto Woolware Bay, but i'm not sure if you can fish it. Cheers, FishingGuy
  7. Thanks for the info guys, I might go get a few today. I was always hesitant in spending $20 for a jig that would tear after one session, but I guess i'll give it a go. Cheers, FishingGuy
  8. Hey Raiders, Just a quick question on the difference between cheap and expensive squid jigs. Regardless of all other factors, I always by cheapo squid jigs but notice after one or two trips the cloth rips of them. I was wondering if this is the same with the expensive ones???? (Yamashita, Daiwa, etc.) Also would like to wish all raiders a very Happy New Year and I hope lots of fish are caught in 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers, FishingGuy
  9. Your were so close mate, hope you get one in your next report. Cheers, FishingGuy
  10. Hey fisholb, The southern Breakwall of Palm Beach (near Currumbin Creek) has produced Flathead, Bream and the occasional Tailor for me in the past. There are also a few Gummy Sharks around there. Let us know how you go Cheers, FishingGuy

  13. Hey Rami, What the BOM mean by "70% Chance of Rain" is the rainfall that might occur at anytime of the day. It doesn't necessarily mean that it will be raining all day or at all, but that there is a 70% likeliness that it might start raining later on. I find a better website to use is Weatherzone. Weatherzone is an Australian website which uses data from the BOM and breaks it down for your local area. For example say your were going to search up the weather for Wednesday, on the BOM website it will tell you the predicted Max. and Min. temp and predicted weather for the entire day. While over on Weatherzone if you click on "48h Forecast" it will breakdown the weather for Wednesday into 3h intervals (12AM, 3AM, 6AM, etc). Hope this information helps. Cheers, FishingGuy
  14. Thanks for the info mate, Might give Woodcroft a go. Yeah i've been up to Norwest before and am aware of the carp (and the 1m+ eels) but the council recently made fishing prohibited because of people not disposing the carp properly. Maybe late at night might be an option. Cheers, FishingGuy
  15. Haha, thanks for the info, i'll give it a go. Cheers, FishingGuy
  16. Hey Raiders, With school holidays here, I was wondering if anyone knows any good freshwater spots in the Seven Hills or Blacktown area. I am based in Kings Langley and only have a pushbike as transport so anything within an hours ride? Don't really want to use public transport if possible as it is very busy at this time and I don't want to carry my fishing gear on it. I NOT looking for a spot where the fish can be eaten, I am aware that the waterways here a polluted. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, FishingGuy

    Yakkas

Wouldn't recommend them for eating, not that good although some people say they are better than Bream. Remember there is no harm in trying. Cheers, FishingGuy
  18. Hey Raiders, Headed out on Saturday to Bass and Flinders point for a quick fish before the storm. Tried for squid on my new Shimano Rod but nothing. As the storm approached I picked up most of our gear to take back to the car when I looked back and saw one of the rods bending over. Dropped everything and struck the rod and I was on. This was a true fishermen test from God, do you leave the rod and take shelter from the storm or do you land the fish. I decided to land the fish. After a decent fight I pulled up a nice 35cm Trevally. Quickly cleaned the fish and ran to the car to take shelter. After a 10 minute wait in the car we headed of to Botany Bay as the rain was not clearing. Tried around Ramsgate for another 2 Hours but nothing. Only a small Bream and a Stingray. By 10:00PM we packed up and headed home, not disappointed. Sorry for no pictures as I had no time to take one due to the storm. Cheers, FishingGuy
  19. Hey Raiders, The devastating news has just arrived that my relatives storage has been broken into and all the things in it stolen, my fishing gear included. There were three rods in there and some tackle. I am not so concerned for the Cheapo Sportfisher rod I had, but for the two yellow and orange rods I had. They were the first ever rods I got for christmas, when I was 5. I am determined to find these little stealing &@#, and when I do they better say their final prayers. If any raiders see these two rods being used anywhere, the information would be greatly appreciated. The rods last known location was McKye St, Waverton. Cheers, FishingGuy
