On two previous occasions I have caught a decent flatty and a bream, and I find trevally to be there sometimes. Saw some Garfish swimming around tonight but had no idea how to catch them. Any advice anyone?? Cheers, FishingGuy

Hey Raiders, Headed down to the Royal National Park today to try my luck. After pumping some nippers at Mainbar we were off to Bundeena. With plenty of Yakkas at the wharf I threw in some unweighted peeled prawns and managed 5 yakkas. Now armed with every single bait possible (Squid, Prawns, Yakkas, Pillies, Nippers), the only thing that was left was to catch the fish. The one problem, not a touch, not even a nibble for a whole 6 hours. One guy next to me caught a squid. Cheers, FishingGuy

Hey Raiders, Been watching the site for a while, so I think its time I started posting. Anyway on Sunday me and my dad headed off to Apple Tree Bay for quick fish. Got there at 12:30PM armed with prawns and pillies. We took a look around the boat ramp and pontoon and saw a lot of whiting and bream, there were quite a few Blue Swimmers around as well. After about 15 mins of waiting we decided that we would go further up as there was to much boat traffic and for some reason whenever we see the fish, they don't bite!! After a 10 min walk we found a nice spot and started throwing prawns out. For the first half hour or so we were pulling in small snapper and bream (mind you they give up a good fight). After an hour my dad picks up a rod and yanks it and he's on. 1 min later he pulls out a nice fan-bellied leather jacket, about 30cm. Then seconds later I pull out a just legal luderick. Was thinking about releasing him but i'd never caught one so I wanted to try him. After that it was getting dark and we decided to head back. We had a few prawns left over so we were flicking them off the foot bridge. No luck here but something did catch my eye. I turned my light off and looked in to the water and saw fish swimming around, but they were leaving a sort of green tunnel behind them. I picked up the net and told my dad to turn his light off and then I ran the net through the water and saw the most awesome thing i'd ever seen. As I ran the net through the water, the water began to glow green. Then I realised whenever you disturbed the water the slightest bit it would do the same thing. We had no idea what it was and started having second thoughts about eating the fish from there. So I asked my science teacher today what it could have been and he said that it was a natural phenomena called bioluminescence. In other words the phosphorus in the water was reacting with the salt. Interesting... All in all not a bad day of fishing to end the week. Sorry about no photos didn't have my phone or camera with me. Cheers, FishingGuy
