  1. I never catch a thing when I take my family out....... The young bloke brings in fish after fish (big and small) so I'm forever either baiting his hook or taking a fish off it, and the missus is continually losing hooks and sinkers etc so I'm forever rigging her rod back up. (And she wonders why I enjoy taking my mates out on the boat for a fish and a punt more than taking her ) So I'll just throw out a hand line and check it every 10 mins or so. Every now and then a flatty or a dumb crab will be on the end of it but not as often as I'd like!!
  2. Never really had much luck in there using SP's and the like. But pretty much can always get something on bait in there (and up the creeks). Think I've only ever had 1 flatty and 1 flounder using SP's...... Bait on the other hand (especially good old chicken breast or thigh), I've caught some pretty tasty fish in there........
  3. Seen someone do something very similar at the mouth to Paddys Channel. Couple of blokes in another boat maybe 30m away from us looked they were using poddy mullet as bait. Poor bloke fought this monster for about 15mins and we could hear the drag getting smashed from where we were. Seen her come to the top in between our 2 boats, and it was MASSIVE. She flicked her tail and snapped the line and went back to the bottom. They must have been absolutely shattered, cause it was gutted for them and I was only watching..... I did notice they both sat down and didn't fish for about 20 mins though. Must have taken that long to wipe away the tears.....
  4. There is some good fish in Tuggerah Lake mate, but you've just gota have some patience. And worrying about tides won't do you much good, the best times is is to fish around the sun I've always found. Both sun up and sun down........ Plus you gots to berley..... Berley is your best friend in Tuggerah Lake.....
  5. Just head into the Marina, and there's a few charter companies there. You can play them off against each other for prices if your that way inclined..... Or wherever your staying should be able to put you onto someone as well. Love Fiji. People are awesome, fishing can be awesome, and my favourite golf course is there as well (Natadola Bay).. Enjoy.
  6. Do you seriously not wipe the smile of your head for weeks after a haul like that?? Brilliant........ Reckon my boat would just about capsize if I brought that much on board!!
  7. That is hilarious..... Thank you very much for reliving it...
  8. I love those couple of little ramps at Tascott. That's were I always put in when I'm fishing in there. Hardly anybody ever goes there for some reason. Maybe cause it's kinda steep and pretty narrow?? But if you know how to back in a trailer properly it's a ripper of a little ramp....... But it can be pretty amusing watching front wheel drive cars spinning out on the left over weed from the tide change though. Happens to me almost every time!!
  9. Hi all, Long time listener, first time caller Just recently moved up to the Central Coast with my young family from north west Sydney. That in itself should allow me to get much more fishing done...... 90% of my fishing would be done in Brisbane Waters with some mates (why go somewhere else when you've got a couple of special spots, right??), and the other 10% would be in Tuggerah Lakes with with my young bloke. Would love to try and get to some other locations....... But maybe one day I could be bothered!! Know pretty much bugger all about different types of gear and stuff like that, but I know what works in the places I fish so just roll with that. But do believe that burley is your friend.... Anyways, look forward to being part of the 'community' here and hope to participate in any way I can.....
