PJ and I are SO there on Saturday! Next question, what's good burley to use?

Great stuff, good to see those smiles on the kids faces too! Fishing is great for kids.

Sounds good to me Yeeros, haven't been up Smiths Creek so it'll make a nice change!. Looking at the chart I can see what you mean by the water depth and dropoffs. Should suit PJ too as it will be away from the main boat traffic in Cowan!

Sounds Great Yeeros, thanks! Might give it a go on Saturday. Do you think the recent rain will have any effect?

Thanks Mondo, We drifted briefly off Juno last time for the small flounder and snapper, but unfortunately it gets a little too "rolly" there for PJ. I know he's not well when his lips turn the same colour as his skin! Thanx for the tips though!

I'll give that a try, thanks Roy!
  7. I'm a new member and hope that I can get a little bit of help from you guys, and hopefully I can help you by posting some reports in the near future. My 5 year old son (PJ)has become a keen fisho, which is great coz I've loved it since I was a kid. We went out on the Hawkesbury a couple of weeks ago and fished from Calabash to Jerusalem Bays, and just about all the well known spots in between. Only got 3 Catfish , and a small snapper, bream and flounder. I like to use the KISS theory (Keep It Simple Stupid), as it doesn't matter to PJ how big the fish are, as long as they're biting. I like to fish around Berowra Creek, as I generally put the boat in there, but I'm not keen on chasing the small crabs which seem to be the go there for bait (I usually use Hawkesbury Prawns or squid). So to sum it all up, can anyone tell a place that's pretty reliable, even if they're only small, and if any other baits are better. Will the recent rain help or hinder this weekend? PJ says thanks!
