  1. Hey guys after seeing two guys nearly punching on at the petrol station this morning over a petrol pump. Nothing surprises me.

Good luck with the quest Nats. I have given up since being in Sydney I was spoilt living in WA. I used to get 20 to 30 jewies a year off the Beach ranging from soapies to my best of 17.2kg using pillies only. If only I knew then what I know now.

  2. Hi Raiders my dad had come up from Vic for Xmas so wanted to take him for a fish. Knew i couldn't take him off the rocks so tried insert the bridge. You know that big coat hanger thing.

Arrived around 6:30 with a couple hours before high tide. Things were a little slow until a school of sambos busts up in front of us.

Long to short I had a small 15 gm spinner on 5 lb braid and started throwing this around. Heaps of hits for 5 hookups and 1x2kg fish landed. I gave the rod to my eldest son and he played with one for about 10 minutes before it spat the hook.

Unfortunately dad did not catch anything but the weather was great and what a view.

    Great time spent together.

  3. Really feeling for the family right now. I am guilty of doing the same thing this bloke has done and worse. It is not about the life jacket we all make decisions just some we regret more than others.

  4. Yes I agree with the other guys. I used to use a locking clip swivel to make it easier to change lures. I then changed to tieing direct I would have to say it works better. Still playing with the rapala knot to see if that adds better action. Concerned with abrasion on the loop though. In the past I have used about a meter of flouro as i did not want to run the knot through the runners as i had alot of air knots and with this still had good hookups. Now that I have learned to tie the FG knot recently I will try to see how this goes.

I find the more action you can put on the lure the better slow, fast, stop, stop, quick, jerk, jerk, rod high, rod low. Good luck

  5. That is just crazy to fish in those conditions and look what they are wearing more importantly. You would have no hope in that gear.

I finally bought myself an auto inflating PFD last week and wore it for 4 hrs on the weekend and it was okay no hassles at all. I did not have to wear it but wanted to confirm what it was like.

I guess prevention is the best cure don't go out when it is to big or you don't know the area.

    RIP mate
