  1. It's actually a REALLY dark EP. I have it on authority it "might" be a hybrid which I actually agree with given the colouration and eye colour etc.
  2. Had a great week, plenty of good quality fish caught. Kids and I had a blast! Here are some of the quality fish we got.
  3. Went out again this morning and got 6 legals in 45 mins. They are on the chew!!!
  4. Fished Currambene Creek and got some nice flatties. Straight home and in the pan for lunch. Zman slim swims did the trick.
  5. Here is a couple of Bass I scored in the same session.
  6. We used the ramp at Windsor. Be careful the river is very shallow if you are heading South, especially at low tide, lots of sunken logs you can't see.
  7. Found 'em again. My mate Graeme snagged a beauty while we were chasing Bass on Sunday.
  8. The trailing/stinger hook design of the ZX Ecogear vibes work well if you ask me. I caught a nice 60cm flathead on one and it pinned him right in the lip. They sorta work like circle hooks, the fish inhales the lure and on the way out the trailing hooks grab the inside of the jaw or mouth. It's a lot "cleaner" than the other vibes with 2 sets of trebles. I still use the other one, it just depends where I am fishing and what I am chasing. Obviously these work better around snaggy areas as you aren't dragging trebles around.
  9. There is bass up there. Surface lures morning and evening and hold on.
  10. Fished 2 different waterways and found some good EP's. Most taken on plastics, with a couple on Ecogear blades.
  11. Berkley Vanish is far from the best fluoro leader out there. No wonder people who tried Vanish claimed that it broke easily etc etc. I've never had knot strength problems with fluoro ever and I fish light (4lb or 6lb) almost exclusively. Find a good quality brand such as Nitlon or Yamatoyo. Those who find it breaks easily due to pressure/impact would be running short leaders. Try running 2.5m+ of leader and watch how much of a difference it makes. You can run a tighter drag and use the stretch more effectively. I'd never want to be running mono leader around any sort of structure.
  12. Do small 2-strokes have a thermostat?? i.e. 15hp and under?
  13. I'll be down the coast after Xmas if you wanna hit the Shoalhaven? Would be good to learn from someone who knows the area!
  14. Thanks for all the responses! I did have another box trailer connected to the car, works fine. I will connect the boat trailer to the wifes car and see if it does the same. It only makes the lights in my car play up when the trailer is connected so it isn't my car however I will check. Might be time to re-wire the trailer!
  15. The lights on my trailer are playing up. Started a few weeks ago with the lights not working at all. Checked the inside of the 7-pin adapter and it was a bit corroded and lots of gunk in there so have changed that, now seats perfectly into the rear of my car. Lights worked fine. Now they are back to playing up. Sometimes the left indicator gets stuck on which keeps the indicator light on my dashboard lit up. Then when I put my foot on the brake, the headlights come on in my car! I can't figure out what to do. Any advice? Regards Nick
  16. Sweet, thanks mate. I'll make sure I recharge it after each weekend (I assume it's ok to use it for 2 days then do a full recharge?).
  17. HI All, I was hoping for some quick advice. I have a small tinny with a 65lb bow mount motor. I have done 4 outings using the leccie connected to a Century Marine Pro 730. The battery still has good charge (green light with red inner dot on display window). Do I keep running it down before I charge it or should I be charging it after every couple of outings and not letting it drain down too far? I have purchased a 7 stage smart charger (10A) to charge it with however I need to know what the best actions are to keep the battery in good condition for a long service life. Kind Regards Nick
  18. NBFisho, there are some great spots in Middle Harbour. One of the best places to chase them on surface!
  19. You'll be surprised what you can catch on plastics. Just about everything will take them and I find the enjoyment of chasing fish rather than them chasing me to be very addictive.
  20. I have that exact same popper. Great lure!
  21. Fished the Harbour with my 2 eldest sons today. Focused on jetties and rock walls affected by Rivercat wash/waves. Found a few stonkers! Nice feed for dinner! Damage was done with 2" Gulp Grubs.
  22. Thanks for the help guys, I'll chuck it in at Tench and then head up until I get to the speed limit zone and see how I go. Anybody else heading out tomorrow morning?
  23. Nobody can help at all? I don't want to steal your spots just a boat ramp location and advice on a quiet/quieter stretch of boat accessible river.
  24. Obey the rules or a float plane will chase ya? Not sure what the moral of this story is!
