    Boat covers

If it's only for a year, I guess most will do. When I did homework, it was suggested the bcfs broke/weakened quite quickly. I ended grabbing one (for storage, not for towing) Message me for the info Happy so far, but only early days.

    Pfd's

Sounds over zealous. That goes against this. http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/maritime/safety-rules/safety-equipment/lifejackets.html#Servicinginflatablelifejackets I would have brought up the website while chatting. - Expiry starts from date of purchase - Some manufacturers allow self service What water way was this ? Why was she asked for license, as I imagine she was under 10knots to go the 40m. I haven't been checked by rms yet, only water police. That was a pretty good experience - even though I was in closed waters, I asked for them to check me as if I was in open waters which they were happy to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Shame there is no offline mode. Needs Internet connection for most of the functionality Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Nice work. It's always possible to cross thread somethings, always Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. There is also this “From 1 July 2016 under the NSW Marine Safety Regulation 2016, charts or maps may be in printed or digital format” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Nice. Where did you get the foam from? Any plans to add a grab handle ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm probably paranoid. My main concern when I solo launch is someone stealing something from the boat when I go park or getting the car from the car park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I think they are discounted pretty well in the current repco catalogue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Measure the size of the hole. Looks like a 1/2" socket bar/driver or breaker bar would fit ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I went out today. Lost 2 hooks and caught a PB in seaweed. No rod sorry.
  13. I'm heading out tomorrow, knowing my luck, that's all I'll catch. Happy to do a few drifts across, do you have a gps location or more specific location ?
  14. I was after a new epirb with gps for the new boat, and tried using my google fu to get the best price I could find. Ended up with Kti SA1G (has the gps). I chose that over the GME due to longer battery life. Product hasn't been tested by me fully, hopefully it never will (aka dont blame me if it doesn't work). Best price I found was www.skippersmate.com.au (home page popup gives you a 5% discount code), and had free delivery. Ordered monday night, got it on wednesday well packed. They threw in a mirror/whistle thing & paracord thing (which I didn't know existed) (not sure if the freebies happens with all orders) and the epirb looks fresh with a may 2027 battery expiry. I bought the one with the grab bag for $285, otherwise would have been $261 ish. Good times. Not affiliated or knew about the site before monday - just found the best price and had a good buying experience.
  15. - ropes - sea anchor - spare fuses - I haven't done dual batteries, so jumper pack - waterproof iPhone case (boat wise, navionics & marine rescue apps are excellent) - sunscreen - insect repellent - first aid kit - spare bung - emergency knife - fenders - garbage bags
  16. Extend the tiller steering with a pvc pipe and sit in the middle seat? Safety people might not be happy with that, so get a longer kill switch lanyard etc.
  17. Was thinking about this today. Say I come across another boat that needs a tow, what's the best place to tie a rope to ? My options ( transom similar to this http://www.clubmarine.com.au/internet/clubmarine.nsf/docs/MG20-1+Boatlines/$file/blines_4.jpg) - ski pole - cleats towards the rear on the gunnel - there is the tie down brackets under the transom steps Thoughts ?
  18. Clever idea, I might give that a go. What did you use to cut it, a hacksaw ?
  19. Due to the angle of my driveway, I can't fully put the motor down while using the jockey wheel. So my options are - not use the jockey wheel and rest the end of the trailer on a piece of wood - have the motor tilted slightly, only a few degrees. Question is - does leaving the motor titled slightly do bad things to the hydraulic lift system (constant pressure) or does it handle that fine ? Cheers, Raging Another dumb question - with the hydraulics for the tilt - does the hydraulics push the motor up and pull the motor down or is it push the motor up and gravity pushes it down ?
  20. Starting to get serious in getting a boat. Just after any recommendations on a mobile mechanic or someone with sufficient skills in doing a pre-inspection ? Most of the boats that caught my eye seem to be in the western sydney area. Cheers, Raging
  21. Great news. All I need now is a transmission cooler and I'm good to go.
  22. Hi, So I'm looking at getting a 4.5 - 5 m quintrex or stacer, which is over the 750kg mark. I understand these come with a braked trailer. I've installed a tow bar to my car. Do I need to install one of those electronic brake controller things that sit under the steering wheel like my old mans XD falcon had when towing a caravan ? Cheers, Raging
