  1. Ive made some slip in posts to use just covering them with marine carpet and yellow tongue tomorow. Also left the manual winch in case of any dramas.
  2. Bought 2 cheap winches off ebay. Both sold cheap as power plugs were damaged, and both untested due to changing owners a few times. Bought at auction, given away etc. etc 1 was $60 Other was $30 Did a complete strip down and service n greese on both, And they work great. Replaced the power plugs with anderson plugs, and made a double ended anderson plug cable for the back of my landcruiser. Using 240v 15amp house power cable. Still need to make a stainless mounting bracket for each anderson plug-winch. Fitted 1 to my trailcraft trailer and other will go on my smaller boat trailer. Should make retrevals a bit more pleasurable. Also welded some guide posts onto the rear of the trailers. Should make single handed retrevals a snack.
  3. Cool vid. The one after it is as well, Catching jews in the cooks river. Dont think id eat one out of there though. ??
  4. Ive found when you wish for something too much its hard to get. or never eventuates. next time you go for a fish= take the attitude you couldn't care less if you get one or not. and use fresh squid. on an overcast night or after a bit of rain.
  5. Dont think so. Looks like its just through the gelcoat. Those area,s should be pretty thick in the edges n corners.
  6. Get back out asap. The moon is beaming.
  7. Id make a mini clift gaff. Out of stainless. With a 20 mtr length of blue/yellow telecom style rope. Google clift gaff. And click in pictures
  8. Spotters, n I treat them like Gollums ring, ? Precious ?
  9. White gelcoat will water proof it as it will be the same as the original gel coat when the boat was made in the mould. When you repair the gel coat, give it a couple of days to cure before you shape it. Sanding with course down to fine when the original shape is formed. As mentioned before try get it done before it gets dirt in the fiberglass. Give it a good scrub with fresh water n an old toothbrush to get any salt out. Then let it dry well before the repair. You can use masking tape on the bottom edge to create a small dam. To hold the gelcoat from dripping away. If you get my meaning. Looks like it's where the side meets the bottom?
  10. I'd backfill it with white gel coat straight away. Over fill and block it back. To original profile then polished it Before water or dirt gets in and causes dramas.
  11. I always do mine like fragmeister. Twist, solder and shrink wrap. Lasts forever. Best way to go. as crimps, etc always seem to corrode unless petrolium jelly is pasted around crimps. Before elec taped up.
  12. Nice fish and off a beach. Well done.
  13. I'm going to drill and tap the hub edges and fit tiny grub screws to my wheel hubs to lock the bearing buddies in on my 2 boat trailers after reading this.
  14. Lower your motor to full down. And run a string line from halfway along the bottom of the hull. Tape it on with gaffa tape. Then lower or raise the string line till it touches the full lenth of the hull and see where it is in conjunction to the motor cav plate. A lot easier than trying to use a straight edge on a pod type motor fit.
  15. Yakka fly with tiny splitshot.cast n retreive
  16. i always use sikaflex. Never failed me yet. I dont like drilling holes either.
  17. Hi Raiders. I have a question???? If you were to relocate to a fishing paradise where would you go? I was just thinking of where would be the best fishing area to move to. Say a house on the water with jetty, boatshed, close to shops, transport, Within Nsw But far enough away from sydney and overpopulated area,s to be comfortable. Where are the best fishing area,s? Where would you go? Cheers
  18. Wow. Might as well sell all my boats. No use having them if they close everywhere.

    Fuel Storage

I think i will stick to 98 After reading the following. Who knows? Maybe the mechanics want work caused by running low quality fuel. or try save the customer a few cents per litre. Whats $10 buy today anyway?A pie n a coke. Lol My machines all run better on 98 so that will do me.
