  1. Thanks Scotty.. Is that wall/public toilets around the marina/wharf area (refer to the picture ive posted)?
  2. found a wharf on the Bobbin head Marina, not sure whether its private or public (looks "public enough for me! ) .. has anyone fished there before?...
  3. Hey Dutchy, Thanks for the info. I am landbased as i have sold my boat I will have a look at the map.. so basically, the bobbin head area is not "really" a land based area?
  4. Thanks Antun! couldnt find any recent post regarding fishing in the area etc.. All im after is some info on the area (not the exact spots), best time to fish etc..
  5. Hi All, Now that my beloved runabout's gone i am restricted to LB fishing and mainly at night. One of the mates suggested we should give Bobbin head a go but I have no idea what so ever whether its a good LB place, what sort of species you can catch, the area, whether its safe etc... Has anyone fished there before?..if so, what should I expect as far as the LB fishing's concern? Did a search on the site only to end up with 100s pages with word "head" in 'em !
  6. AWSOME stuff mate! ay i ask what bait did you use?

  9. Hi All, Long time no post..been busy with work and studies at work! .. Now that the long w'end is around the corner, thinking of few over night sessions. Thinking of giving the Clifton gardens a go but heard that the wharf is closed for renovations? has anybody fished there recently? are you still allowed to fish off the wharf? if the answer is "YES" to all the questions, then hows fishing there these days? Cheers Richie

  15. Has anyone fished clifton gardens lately?..if so, how is it producing?hinking of giving it a go landbased.. Thank you
  16. My Opinion is you MUST have a license if you're taking a boat out in the water (regardless how fast you're planning to go)..specially if you've never owned a boat before. Its not just a "qualification" but the boating course will teach you HEAPS about the different navigation marks/signs, safety tips etc.. Plus its a fairly straight forward and easy test. As a first time boat owner I have learnt alot from the course module and much more confident now taking my boat out compared to the stress level of the times I hired a tinny!
  17. Ive heard about it too but dont have a proper recepie. The one i found on the net dosent have any chillies involved but tomato puree etc./.
  18. The wire i used is 100mmx50mm and very thick gauge (I have BIG parrots ) hope it is legal as it would only keep big enough crabs and not any small fish, smaller crabs etc.. They did indeed..one fed the whole family as a sweet corn&crab soup and the other as a salad..very nice and fresh..cant wait to get a few more next time (even though they scared the heck outta me when i pulled the trap, they were that big!) Thank you very much Byron..Got your PM and will call you soon!
  19. Two Gigantic muddies caught on hawkesbury 2-3 weeks ago using my home made crab traps (made with left over aviary wire mesh!!) and a $5 frozen servo mullet! They looked like some pre-historic monsters and each wouldve weighed around 2+kg's each!
  20. Thanks for the awsome opportunity Byron, once again you've proven to be a top fisho bloke! ...alright, enough buttering up (i really meant what i said though!) I fish hawkesbury atleast once a fortnight, mainly on the weekends, in my 4m glass runabout, however never had the opportunity to hook a jewie! that is mainly due to my lack of boating exp and lack of knowledge of the hawkesbury system.. That is why I thanked you in the beginning for offerring some quality fishing time with you. All that being said, I would LOVE to go out there with you and try my luck on jewies in hawkesbury. I am quite capable of helping you with launching, retrieving, carrying stuff etc.. as mentioned above, I am new to the whole boating thing but willing to learn new things and i am a fast learner! I live in western suburbs but no worries i can travel to Campbelltown if required or to any boat ramp in the hawkesbury.. So there Byron, If you think I'd be any use, please send me a PM! Cheers.. Ritchie
  21. therefore the eddie's fish well after it stops swirling?.. or do they fish well regardless due to the depth? I think I have seen this effect around the pylons and structure and kinda scared to take my boat there given my lack of exp in boating and being a poor swimmer i am! im gonna be looking for eddies next time!
  22. Ive heard that "eddy's" fish well ..so, my question is what exactly is an eddy, how do you identify one and how you fish there? ?.. Cheers
  23. Thanks Baz.. I think ive seen that ramp you're talking about.. yeah, its abit flat and muddy during the low tide time eh?.. you reckon it'd worth driving up to Spencer and launch from there?
  24. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen... Thinking of giving the Wisemen's a go this weekend but since I have never taken my boat out there before, I have no idea where to launch from etc.. Ive fished land based there few times but dont remember seeing a boat ramp. Plus not sure whether I can go across the ferry route? Therefore, I would like to know, 1) Where can I launch (somewhere safer, away from the ferry etc.. as I am new to the boating) 2) Good bait grounds (if there's any, not your secret spots ) 3) Good spots (As in "popular" spots, not your secret spots again..i dont mind if you wanna share though! ) and most importantly, whether the area fishes well these days?... I have fished Spencer landbased for EP's, Flatties etc.. but thats very closer to the shore..not sure whether i could take the boat there (she's a 4m glass runabout) as there's mud flats and heaps a debris.. ..Any advice is appriciated.. Thank you in advance!!!!
