  2. Thanks heaps for that, yeah i bought some heavier jigs when I first had a go but it was obvious that when land based the lighter the better. Unfortunately I am land based so I'll keep in mind that in all areas smaller/lighter is best. Cheers for the advise. Cheers Brownie

  13. Hey Raiders, Been spending my time at work working hard to find some new spots for me to try and have been very interested in Ryde wharf in Anderson park and it's shore line under the Ryde bridge but also the wharf off Blaxland road just to the west of the Ryde wharf that's right next to the train bridge. Just wondering if anyone had had any luck in this area, and what kind of fish I could be hooking up to? Any help greatly appreciated. Cheerss, Brownie
  14. When im trying to match a rod n reel it basically comes down to what I'll actually be using it for, as I'm mainly an on shore esturay fishermen I go for the 2-4 or 3-5kg rods 6'5" to 7" rods paired with 8lb braid and 16lb leader. Once you have decided what ur going after and what conditions you will be in its easier to decide rod and then as savit said the reel needs to be smooth and comfortable on the rod. What kind of fishing are you thinking or doing or are doing??
  15. Cheers bud, I bought the Abu Garcia vertilas with a 250 reel, was on sale as a combo and was well worth the money. But I will keep that in mind as I also picked up a 3-5kg Shimano rod of my bro as he didn't need it no more so now need a reel for that. Brownie
