  1. Hey guys, Plan on taking my 9yr old son out for a session on Saturday night up on the central coast. Unfortunately it will be land based only as I don't have access to a boat but was hoping someone could give me an idea of a good area to get some action. I haven't lived on the coast for 5 plus years so don't remember many kid friendly areas. I'll be using SPS but my boy will be using bait. Any advice would be great. Cheers in advance, Brownie
  2. Beautiful will keep that in mind next time I get up there for some fresh bait. Cheers boys
  3. Ooo nice, I new you could get squid around the boat ramp but wasn't aware that u could pick em up from Jimmy's. Cheers
  4. Gotta agree tea gardens and Hawks nest is a fav of mine, spent many a school holidays up at my grand parents place out on the boat and having a hit if golf. Some really nice sand flats up near Jimmy's beach that we always use to catch some nice sized lizards at. Need to get back up there. Were you squiding near the shops near tea garden pool just before the bridge?? Brownie

  8. Hey guys, So with the new set up bought I'm not going to start learning the art of sp's. I'm going to be fishing in the George's so going after flatties and bream mainly. Was wondering what you guys would suggest using. I'm currently looking for the more simple SPS with long tails that give the bait alot of movement. Any suggestions would be great. Cheers, Brownie
  9. Cheers bud I'll keep an eye on it. Iv got warrenty so any issues and it will be covered. Picked it up yesterday feels like it's going to be a good start to my sp set up.

  13. Just bought it should be picking it up tomorrow. Also picked up a Shimano IX 2000 spin rod for my other reel
  14. Yeah I think I'll go the 8lb just to make sure if I strike a big flatties etc I got that little bit more on the line. Now my question is, is this suitable to Both bait and lure fishing? Iv give a crappy Jarvis walker with I'm getting a new reel for and will be using that also but when I am with my boys would like to use that also with bait do u see any issues with that
  15. Yeah it's the deal Ur thinking of and as a new member the price is 110 for me. Would be going after flatties Whitting bream and bass on the odd occasion don't see any boat fishing in the near future for me. As for the braid I'm thinking Berkley fire line
  16. Hey guys, Been doing some looking around for a good set up and have taken a liking to the Abu Garcia Veritas. I'm looking at the 6'8" 1 peice 3-5kg. It will be paired with a 30sz orra spin reel. I'll be looking at pairing it with 8lb braid. Does anyone have any experience with this rod or have any advice for improvments on the set up I'm thinking of running?? Cheers Brownie
