  1. Hi Koons, I fish IC quite regularly and have tried all spots mentioned in the above posts. You are correct with Rodd Point - I have seen some nice fish taken from there BUT there is alot of snags around the areas that hold the fish. I had a 2 hour session there one morning and lost 8 jigheads to snags where as my more experinced fishing partner lost only 1 and managed some decent size lizards. I have also fished with 8footugly in the areas he so kindly provided and found that the spots marked F are pretty snag free and you should have no trouble bouncing off the bottom. The spots marked B are closer to some rock areas and more caution here is needed. Also are you fishing 1/16 jighead because that is plenty
  2. Thanks Granpop & Kenmare for the info Good advice - I will ask the local tackle store what is happening in the area Hope I get onto some(thing)
  3. I lost the only SX40 I so kindly trialing - and have been a bit gun shy to get another with XMAS taking a lot of the budget and the not seeing the need for it. But I did pay a visit to ABA yesterday and got one for Sunday albeit a gift for XMAS - call it a pre-gift. Early in the new year I will come and see you to stock up on some gear and pick-up another SX40 as well as seriously start looking at a rod upgrade.
  4. I was looking for some advice on a suitable lure / sp that can catch Yellowbelly, Cod etc. I am heading down to Lake Hume (NSW/VIC border) in Dec / Jan and chasing some species I have never fished for before. Any tips on hardbody, lure or sp that may work including jig head size / weight and retrives etc for this species much appreciated. Looking to have a bit of fun with the kids and maybe catch n release a new species.
  5. It is from the "sp's that i bought and then found better sp's to buy and use" - commonly known as archived sp's I dont even know the real name
  6. Hit IC for a 5.45am till 8am session earlier today 14/12/05. Mainly fished in front of Le Montage club. Managed 1x 30cm bream (first bream on Gulp Minnow in Black) - 1x 40cm lizard (took a pumpkinseed bass minnow) and 1x 30cm lizard (took a bass triple swirl grub). All were released to see another day
  7. Did you wade out to the sand bar at high tide ?. I agree that a social at fig tree bridge needs to be arranged for a low tide early morning in Jan 06. Bring it on.

  14. I might be able to make an early morning session Sunday - 5.30am to 8.30am - tides look dead low around 6am ish for Sunday by my guess Has anyone been there recently - have any decent Lizards arrived yet
  15. Yeah I was told Greenwll point was a great are. We unfortunately didnt head that way on this occassion but I am keen to get there over XMAS period
  16. Hit the south coast on sat 15/10/05 for an early morning land based flick on shoalhaven river. After 1 hour without success was lucky enough to meet a local sp fisherman whom offered me a ride in his boat. We hit the river for 2.5 hours and managed 3x keeper Lizards (60cm, 41cm & 40cm). There were another 8 or so caught and returned - all below the 35cm mark. Gold lures were the colour of the day however the berkley worms did produce as well. Had to laugh when a 20cm baby lizard took a couple of runs and peeled off a bit of drag which felt like a 60cm or so fish. Could not belive the power that this baby had. Anyway a good chance to get out on a boat and back into some sp action - it was my first time out for a couple of months.
  17. In the near future I will have access to a tinny (as long as I stay in the good books with the parents - they are soon goning to buy a new outboard to replace the small Mercury that has served them well for many years) BUT at the moment I am only Land Based. Any help most appreciated.
  18. Anyone been down south - Shoalhaven heads area lately flicking some sp's around. It looks as though we might get a little wet (based on early weather forecast) but hopefully I can have a flick. Any of the local waters fishing well. Any reports floating around. Any feedback worth a try most welcome. Mainly chase Bream and Lizards.
  19. Hey raiders, I have been inactive for a couple of months after the company I was working for decided to pull up stumps on manufacturing in Sydney. Anyway with a missus and 4x children (23 dogs and 1x tropical fish) to feed I was off to re-employ myself. Things have worked out well and I have been busy starting the new role and on top of that I am a die hard Tigers (Balmain from age of 4) supporter and having forked out $800 for 4 tickets I am in heaven. I was hoping for some advice on fishing Lake Hume in NSW (32km Sydney side of Albury - not too far from Vic border) with SP's. I beleive ther are Cod, Yellowbelly and dreaded Carp in there but have never fished the area or chased these types of fish. I am haeding down for 7 nights this Dec/Jan holidays and wish to throw some lures around. Any advice or tips most welcome. Cheers all and happy fishing.
  20. Travelled to Bega for work and staying with friends near Bermagui gave us a chance to get out for a flick on Friday. Local knowledge was that Killer Tomato was worth a try and thus picked up some pink bass minnows. We decided to try Walliga Lake which has been closed for 3 years and only opened again a week ago after the rain and some high tides. We were advised that 4-5kG Tailor had been caught in the lake in recent days. It was a nice 3 hours on the water and my mate was fishing Live Nippers and managed a 35cm bream with a couple of other dropped fish. We anchored ujp in an area with water busting up all around us and began flicking minnows into the appropriate areas. Next thing zzzzzzzzzz and I am on to what we beleived was a tailor and felt 2-3kG by the way it was running and from what I have caught in the passed. A 5 minute wrestle began and we directed an oncoming boat around us to avoid getting cut-off. This was the first time I have ever been down to the last couple of turns of 125yd Fireline and approaching backing. We tossed up whether to chase the fish or stay put and wrestle. We chose to stay put and unfortunately I was broken off in one of the many aggressive runs the fish took. A heavy weed and the odd rock area may not have done us any favours BUT it was an exciting and adrenalin pumping fight that I wont forget easily.
  21. Anyone know what Brighton Le Sands is like for land based flick. Is there a spot to chase Lizards and or Bream on SP's. If there is a spot, how heavy Jig would be needed.
  22. Most of my flicking has been done in and around Parramatta & Lane Cove Rivers and a couple of times at Cooks River. I have put my hand up to run a couple of friends to the Airport for an early morning flight Wednesday and will use the trip to throw some SP's around for a couple of hours in a NEW spot for me. Can anyone suggest a location of which I am a Virgin that I could add to my locations Land Based. I will travel from Airport back to Parramatta via ..... the New spot. Any help by PM or reply most appreciated.
  23. Just a quick note to any Fishraider members with Georges River Land Based knowledge chasing Bream & Lizards. I have not fished the Georges but in the next 3 weeks I am looking to do a couple of early morning catch n release sessions. I am familiar with roads from Milperra to Picnic Point (old soccer player from Bankstown District) but I will travel outside of this area to better locations. Please PM or reply with any help that might point me to a street / area that holds fish. Any tide tips or SP colours etc. for the zone also appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  24. With a dead low (0.2M) at 5.11am this morning I decided to have a flick for an hour or so at Fig Tree Bridge. Arrived 6am and left at 7.30am flicking along the sand bar either side of the bridge. Managed a 1x 40cm Lizard and 1x 50cm Lizard (sorry NO PICS) during the session. Would have liked to stay longer but work commitments.
  25. The result was squared on Monday with me producing a Donut and 8footugly at least 1x Lizard JD The Herring was beginners luck I do agree though - a day out fishing is an awesome way to relax and unwind. Any catch is a bonus
