    Autism - Update

Cogratulations on stickin to looking for something that will work, so many parents are intimidated by health professionals and do not question anything that is prescribed especially Ritalin, Thanks for the post and i am sure that you will inspire other parents to keep looking until they find the appropriate treatment which is rarely part of the first diagnosis. I work in disailities and kids with parents as dedicated as you grow into adults that can not only cope / function in society but can contribute very positively to society and have a great quality of life. You and your wife should be commended. Arif
  2. "Carp Raider-thon" sounds good, maybe some of the organisational masterminds could set one up here. Arif
  3. Overboard gear has a way of coming back, we caught our own rod a month or so later in sydney harbour several years ago and were absoloutely amazed, but maybe fishing in the same spot each time increases chances good luck with the real Arif

  7. Scary Stuff, My parents have a caravan at Budgewoi and the caravan park is now inside the lake and we were cleaning up yesterday with the kids, the thought of blue ringed octopus did not even cross my mind, my only concern was the risk of getting cold from wet feet.....
  8. Well deon guys, you have motivated me to try the local lakes at Cecil Hills, i know there are eel and catfish in there and i hope there are carp as well. Who knocks fighting carp, eating them maybe but catching them is great.... Arif

When i asked the question i had no idea there was more than just 2 or 4 stroke to outboards but am almost ready to set up a my own mobile outboard service I have decided which way i will go when i have the money together. Thanks again
  12. Hi It seems like everything is covered but i would be most interested in stuff for the kids and landbased fishing info thanks Arif

    My Brother The Hero

How inspirational, it was indeed an extraordinary act, not what anybody there would do, it restores my faith in Humanity in a time when selfless scrifice for others is becoming too rare. It is great that the powers to be also recognise this as something special. Arif
  14. Well done guys when you catch a fish nearly as big as yourself you know your good

  16. Hi MACs are great but are a little more expensive than comparable PC machines, also if you have experience with PC's you may find a MAC takes some getting used to. They are however much more stable than windows based machines and you will not have the same issues with virus, phishing etc. If you opt for a PC you may find that ACER make very high spec machines at a good price, I have found that in spite of their low cost they are as reliable as any other PC based notebook. Arif
  17. Hey all I keep hearing about catching dollies, pardon my ignorance but people are not talking about barbies are they? could somebody please tell me what 'dollies' are? Thank you Arif
  18. Hi Raiders It was brought to my attention (thanks flightmanager) that the dates on the photos are 01/01/2005. My mates camera defaults to that date whenever the batteries are removed (and the lazy so and so finds it too difficult to spend the 45 seconds changing the date), i think it may be the date of manufacture or something. The photos were indeed taken on Tuesday. Sorry about the confusion. Arif
  19. 6am Tuesday morning, load up the car and head out towards pittwater to pick up a boat from Darren from Trailerboat hire in Pittwater, 2 minutes into the trip (excellent timing) get a call from Darren informing that the winds are about 30 knots out his way, it is agreed to cancel the boat hire. Head home to change cars and decide what to do, 10 minutes later in the other car heading 'south'. Drive through Wollongong and decide it may be a good idea to look at a map, see map realise we have passed lake illawarra (no suitable gear for beach or rock fishing) never deterred continue to head south, at Nowra follow signs to Greenwell point, have breakfast (chasing stuff all over the joint being blown about in the wind) buy some local prawns and walk onto the wharf for our first experience of 'hurricane fishing' Deciding it is not worth setting up the rods take a couple of handlines to play, cast out the rusty jhook with split shots under a commercial fishing boat and within 30 seconds land the biggest bream i have ever caught After another cast / throw/ lob / drop, try under another boat and immediately get another good bream, This causes quite a stir among the other anglers and commercial fishers on the wharf and moored as the most unlike person gets two good fish Try all the other boats with no luck. realise at this stage that the fish have cut through th eplastic bag, we are using as an icebox and flipping around the wharf, clean the fish and head off to Nowra ***** to buy an esky and ice. Store the fish safely in the esky and continue our adventure after driving around find ourselves at Callanan Bay Boat ramp (I think) play around catching and releasing small bream, have lunch and head home. No idea where we are going, no icebox, bucket or clue in general qand i get the biggest bream of my life what a fluke!!!!! Arif
  20. Hi Huey Thank you, this helps a lot i was concerned that the higher the HP for the same sixe engine the harder the engine would have to work, i will look into the ETEC, as i did not consider any of the 4 strokes because of cost, if i can afford the ETEC i will come in and see you. Thanks again Arif
  21. Hi Raiders I have been looking at a 50 or 60 horsepower Mercury or Yamaha 2 stroke, i notice that througout the range the same engine (size, bore stroke etc) have different horsepower ratings, is this because the higher horsepower motors are just revving higher or have different settings on their carbs? also does it matter am i better off getting a outboard that has the lower HP for its CC size? PS i have only considered these two brands should i look at some of the others? Thanks Arif
