  1. Excellent fish there @Pickles, hopefully I can replicate it tomorrow.
  2. Well done a couple nice ones in there.
  3. Nice fish and even better brag mat. Well done
  4. Yeah pleased with that for a result in Sydney, hopefully double digits next.
  5. Yeah they do have a problem of losing their paint, I was considering using a thin clear coat to have them last a bit longer.
  6. The water was pretty clear out of Port Hacking, could easily see the bottom in 5m and out further the water was a nice clean blue. Not sure how it will be after all this rain though.
  7. I reckon lures look better after losing some paint, just wished it would’ve lasted more that 4 fish.
  8. Cheers guys, when I started the metal was fresh out the pack and after 4 fish it ended up like this. I guess they don’t make them how they used to, might stick to raiders and twisty’s.
  9. Headed up to Port Stephens for work and stopped by Shoal Bay for lunch. Was meant to be windy and raining all day but there was a lull in the weather, so I decided to head to to the wharf for a quick flick for a squid or something. Started throwing around a squid jig and now long after a few bust ups started popping up, quickly switched to a metal and hooked up on a few good sized tailor. Got 4 in the span of 30min, not bad for an spontaneous session.
  10. It’s good fun when you get the hang of it, just like soft plastics fishing but no bycatch. Thanks mate Kept the bigger ones for eating and vacuum sealed the smaller ones for kingfish bait.
  11. Recently I’ve been really getting to squiding/eging. Mainly focusing on green eyes rather than arrow squid, and have been getting some solid results down the south coast but have decided to try Sydney waters again after a long hiatus. Tried some spots around 4-6m depth using 3.0-3.5 size jigs in various colours with some good results in the early morning. Favourite colours being black with red foil and green flashboost jigs. As the sun came up we moved into deeper water off the cliffs around 12-20m, this move produces resulting in multiple large squids, same jigs just added a small ball sinker to aid the jig in sinking faster. A good session considering the size and amount caught in a short period of time in the highly pressured waters of Sydney.
  12. For live baiting kingfish I use 60lb braid and start off with 80lb leader and gradually go down as low as 20lb if i’m not getting bites and go up I keep getting smoked. For flicking plastics and small stickbaits i’ll generally stick to around 12lb leader. Hope this helps
  13. Not familiar with jigging in kayaks but have done a bit of micro and slow jigging from a boat with some success. I use 20-40g jigs with 12lb leader and just bounce the jig off the bottom or around a school of bait. I’ve caught kingfish, salmon, flathead, and various other species wit this method. This guy does a lot of jigging in his kayak and is catches a lot of fish.
  14. Yeah we were using 1/12oz jig heads on 8lb leaders with prawns and plastics, I think the wind made the bream a bit less finicky today
  15. Hi all, went out early this morning to fish the early high tide, got out on the break wall around 6:50. It was pretty windy so we decided to fish on the inside face, flicked a 2.5inch Zman slim swim around and snagged a low 30s bream. Switched to a Squidgies Prawn and copped a 39cm bream, a new pb on the plastic. Dad was fishing with prawns and scored a couple as well. Overall not a bad for blowing 20knots on a Saturday morning
